He and Matt were at my house within two hours, gave me an assessment, and made sound recommendations so that the repair could be completed and the view of the house from the street would be intact. "I highly recommend HDC Roofing! Wayne's attention to detail and highest quality craftsmanship is exceptional. I had had a puddle indoors after a bad rainstorm. Wayne took the time to explain how a ridge vent is supposed to work, and why my old one allowed the driving rain to push rain into the house. He showed me a sample of the new ridge vent, matched new shingles to my older roof, and I ended up with a beautiful new ridge vent to protect the space below. His pricing is fair and honest, he and his son arrived on time, did the work as agreed, and also did a great job cleaning up. Wayne and his son are amongst the most pleasant and courteous contractors I've ever met. I would definitely recommend HDC and will use their services again if need be!"

HomeAdvisor uses an extensive screening process to screen businesses and business owners/principals. We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Licensing

We require all pros to attest that they carry the appropriate local and state licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

State Business Filings

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state in which they operate.

Ratings
