How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because of previous experience as a master carpenter. The roofing industry seemed to have great potential and it provided an opportunity to help our community grow stronger. Willow Ash Roofing began in Atlanta, GA where, with personal experience in high quality workmanship combined with a desire to help the community came together in one of the most affordable and highest quality roofs possible. This made our company stand out in the Atlanta Market despite its size. That said, during vacation one year we visited Isle of Palms and fell in love with the low country. We moved our family as well as our trusted crews into Charleston, keeping our community together to provide the best products and workmanship to our new home. Whatever your roofing needs, Willow Ash Roofing has the knowledge, experience, and dependability to do it right..

Install or Replace a Flat, Foam or Single Ply Roof

Had a flat roof installed in a low slope overhang over my sunroom and porch. The sheathing was all rotted and I asked for all of it to be replaced. They only replaced 13 sheets of the 20 or so that needed it. Also it turns out they do not even know how to put an the flat roofing material. Absolute worst experience. When I tried to get them to fix it, no return calls. I ended up having to hire another company to do it right.

Response from Company:

Hi Bradley, We do not allow rotten/deteriorated substrate under our roofs and would have installed new substrate as required. Furthermore, we are experienced in the products we install and have a highly capable crew and foreman as our applicators. From my understanding, there are no leaks and the roof is standing strong as we speak. Please let us know if we are able to perform an inspection on the roof, as we have not seen it since its application to better understand some of your concerns. Thanks, Willow Ash Roofing Team.

Went up and put a few nails up stating the roofing company who put the roof on placed the nails wrong. Took about 20 mins. I think the job should be price by what is done not a set price just to go up on the roof.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
