John is a great, honest guy who does very good work. Due to his being an independent, self-employed electrician, we struggled a bit with communicaitons, both by phone and via e-mail. When he was able to do the requested work, he did a fine job.

John is a versatile and quality professional. He installed our home cinema, taking care of the electrics, wall mounting the TV and speakers, cable fishing and finishing the drywall. Overall an excellent job and I would recommend him to anyone.

I requested estimates from 2 other competitors. The first one pulled up in his $75,000 car and jotted down some things on a clipboard, and could not give me any type of idea what really needed to be done, other than it was going to be extremely expensive. The second person who visited by home was very unknowledgable about the wiring, and could not determine even how he could attempt in fixing my electrical needs. I knew more about the wiring than he did, even though I had just moved in 1 month prior, and he was a certified, liscensed electrician. Power Electric called me, and they immediately could diagnose the problem over the phone! He was even able to tell me a few problems that I were experiencing specific to where and when to problems were arising without eveni stepping foot into the home yet. I was truly amazed! After they spent a short time inspecting and evaluating my home, they were not only confident that the job could be completed properly, but the price with a sound estimate was more than 1/2 of what the competitors could only speculate! After that, they were able to complete the job on-time, and have offerred to come back for check-ups, and any additional needs. An electric wire between lamp and ceiling was broken in my kitchen located in Wilmette, and I urgently needed an electrician to repair it. At that time I was in another town. So I was trying to look for electrical service through ServiceMagic web site on July 7, 2008. Soon later, I received responses from three electric services. After discussed with John through phone, he understood my urgent need. He was willing to help me buy ceiling lamp from a store, and scheduled the work in the same day. During the work he found out that the new lamp does not fit well. Then he put a temporary lamp for safety. Secondary he went the store again and bought another lamp, and installed it in my kitchen. John is very responsible and willing to take extra time and effort to do the job and make customers satisfied and happy, while still keep very reasonable charge. I shall mention that his wife is also very responsible. She reacted with customers request promptly, and then informed John for the next work, and also kept me updated with John���s plan.
