Positive: (1) Employee arrived when promised and completed the work within the estimated time-frame. (2) Costs matched phone estimate. Negatives: (1) When he cut out a sink trap, he didn't have a bucket to pour out the water trapped in it. He ran to a different sink, but dripped on (and stained) the carpet. With foresight, this could have been avoided, either by using a bucket, asking to borrow one, or using adequate towels. (2) He did a bad job connecting leads to disposal. He practically destroyed prewires. (3) I paid the company with a check. He called back later that week and asked me to write him a personal check. Suspicious.

The work was good, but it took a week to get someone to do it after several broken committments, and it took way longer to do the work, which translated to an enormous unexpected labor bill, most of which was for driving back and forth from my home to buy parts they could have brought the first time. If the first person who showed up at my house told me it was an 8 hour job, I never would have started it. Shame on me for not getting a written estimate. Without it, I was at their mercy to take as long as they needed to and make as many trips back and forth to get parts on my dime at over $100 per hour.
