"I had contacted McCane Turf in reference to aerating and seeding my lawn. He was great about keeping in touch (even when I wasn't), and actually suggested I wait until the fall the do this project, as that is a better time. I appreciated him actually caring about his projects and my lawn, as opposed to just taking whatever job comes along for the sake of getting paid. I will be contacting him in the fall."

"I called for the free estimate, but the individual who took my information accidentally did not take my full phone number, preventing a call back. The owner of this company was so extremely helpful and professional, however, that he actually came to my house to set up a future appointment in person. This is the type of professionalism that we as customers deserve. A week and half later, the first treatment was applied to my lawn. I do not have a single weed in my lawn. Everywhere I look other people have dandylions gallore, but not my lawn. It is coming in thicker after only one treatment. I am excited to see how it is going to look after a full year of treatments. I would highly recommend this company."

"I bought a deal of the day and ask if they could take down a tree. The Tree was a lot harder to come down and they are a small company so they don't have the equipment that the larger company's have. They came over a three day period because they couldn't get it down in one day because they had to have a tree climber which takes longer than if they would have had a truck with a bucket. They just kept working and didn't complain. They are a small company and they stood behind their work. I know they couldn't have made much off of this job but they still honored the coupon. I was very impressed with the men that came. They had good values and were honest. If I had smaller jobs I would be sure to call them but even though our job was really hard they did it with a smile on their faces and they did a great job. Thank you Robert for allowing your men to take care of us.

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Atlanta, IN

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
