"We had 5 companies come out to quote replacing 3 of our exterior doors. Roland is not a pushy salesman with the must purchase today or the price increases motto. He answered multiple emails and even came out a second time to our home to further discuss replacing the doors and answer our questions. He checked in in-person a couple of times during the install process to make sure things were going smoothly. The install team were hard workers and did a great job. We used Star Home Improvements because of their reviews and we didn’t feel like just another number to the company. The plus side was they also came in with the lowest quote. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to others."

"It took a little time for the project to start due to the coronavirus, once they started the work was completed very timely. The windows were installed in less than a day. The capping if the trim started as the window work finished. I a matter of a week the trim was complete. The gutter installation took another day. The work crews were very professional, they explained what they were going to do before they started and they cleaned up as soon as they were done. I would recommend HCR for this kind of project."

"The initial estimate in August 2015 went very well.  We were very pleased with the quality we were getting and the quoted price.  The company was responsive and showed up on time to give us the estimate. From that point, however, we had difficulty at times communicating.  We did not hear back from the company regarding the status of our order and possible dates for scheduling the installation. When we finally heard from them in October, they left a message for us with a date of installation. I called and left a message to confirm the date, but they did not get our message.  Once they understood the mistake, they immediately rectified by making time for us as planned.  
On the day of installation in October 2015, the lead installer showed up on time but they did not start work until about 11:00 am due to an issue with the window delivery/pick up. The installation went fine, and they appeared to be detailed and diligent in their work. However, we noticed part way through there was a mistake in the order, and one window was ordered without grids. Unfortunately, the installation went very late (they did not finish until about 9 pm) due to complications with the big picture window at the very end, which was not started until nearly 7 pm.  Consequently, they completed the work on the large picture window in the dark and cleaned up outside in the dark.  They were unable to wrap a side window that was not part of the installation, but which they agreed to wrap when we had our estimate.  We were told they would come back and finish cleaning up when they came back to swap the window out for the correct one, clean off black marks on the interior of the windows, and complete the wrapping of the additional window.  The next morning, we completed the clean up ourselves outside.  We were pleased with the installation and the quality of the windows. However, we noticed a dent in the aluminum border surrounding the big picture window above our front door, probably inadvertently caused due to the lack of visibility in completing the work in the dark.  We communicated that to the company in writing and by phone.  We were told it would be taken care of by the installer. Within a few weeks, the installer came back and installed the correct window pane, but did not have the materials to wrap the additional window or fix the dent above the front door. It has now been over five months, and we have had multiple instances when we were told the installer was coming only to either not have him show up or have him reschedule.
I have contacted the company multiple times, most recently two weeks ago, when we were told by the general manager the installer had just picked up the materials and would be contacting us to take care of it.  After more than a week, the installer contacted us to say he would be by on the weekend to take care of it. Once agin, he had not shown up or communicated to us regarding the schedule.
We were very pleased with some aspects of our experience but extremely displeased by the lack of responsiveness, the feeling of being bounced around to various members of the company, and the fact that they did not complete what they said they would or fix the dent above our front door caused by the installation. When I have spoken to the general manager or the installer, they are always very polite and  professional.  I just wish these interactions were followed up by action.  Our issue remains unresolved more than five months after installation.

"I noticed Chris' $199.00 roof tune-up with a $100 repair credit (depending on roof slope). I wasn't having any noticeable roofing issues, but I decided to get it checked out because it's been 9 years since our move-in roof inspection.  Chris was friendly, came at a convenient time for the inspection, and then returned to do the minor repairs. He took before and after photos and explained what he was doing (replacing rotted plumbing pipe collars, replacing shingles directly around the collars, and sealing ridge vents.) My total for everything was $375.00 (my roof slope is very steep, and Chris explained this and the necessary upcharge at the beginning so there were no surprises.) I was pleased with his service.

"After receiving bids from several companies, we selected Sunshine Contracting to replace all of the windows in our house with Sunrise windows, do a complete removal and replacement of all of the siding on our “Tudor style” house with James Hardi fiber cement siding, and replace all existing gutters and downspouts. This job was particularly complex due to the style of the house and the multitude of “Tudor style” architectural designs that needed to be maintained and replicated with the James Hardi fiber cement boards. This was also a challenge because the previous trim boards were all rough sawn cedar and the stucco panels and lap siding were vintage 1979 Masonite. The quality of the work performed by Sunshine Contracting was outstanding, and yes, we would contract with them again if we had to do it all over again. Their professional siding craftsmen had experience in re-siding Tudor Style homes and were able to replicate all of the intricate carpentry previously done in the rough sawn cedar with the James Hardi fiber cement board. Any concerns or issues that we raised, were immediately addressed by the team and corrected. The Project Manager and Team Leads were always there and available to us, and answered all of our questions. The whole crew was very professional and friendly, and they did a great job cleaning up after every working day. Sunshine Contracting has now taken us from a home that required outside maintenance on a regular basis, to one that is essentially maintenance free! I highly recommend Sunshine Contracting for any home siding, gutter, or window installation project that you may have."
