Gary Gilbert is a well-established third generation mason with over 30 years of experience in all types of stonework and specialize in fireplaces - available for residential or commercial projects on either new construction or on existing structures. "Gary called me within minutes of posting project on site. Met with me the next day (end of June 2023) to go over project. Told me his per square foot rate, which I agreed to. Bragged about how sourced his stone locally and also told me that the stone was included in the quote. Gary said he was 3 weeks out. I agreed to everything. Said he would get me samples the following. Did not hear from him the following week. Called him. He seemed aggravated that I was calling him after he did not respond to my text or phone calls. Said he would call me the next day to tell me when he would show up to do job. Never called and did no hear from him again. Strung me along for a month and then ghosted me. Very unprofessional, rude and would not use him if he was the last mason on earth."

"I spent a lot of time trying to find someone that could replace my front steps. Getting someone to actually call back was the first challenge. Then, trying to find someone who does everything we wanted: granite steps, faux stone facing and sides, white railings, and the ability to tear up and lower my walkway then redo it to make the first step 7” was an even bigger challenge. We finally found the right guy/company and we are very happy with the results. Walter Santos of W. Santos Construction did it all for us. He started within days of us accepting his proposal. He was kind, communicated the next steps with us well, and the quality was fantastic. I was outside tonight taking photos and a family was taking a walk stopped me to ask who did the steps because “they make the house.” I took some dry and wet pics after the dust was washed off and I’m very happy with the results. He even came out to finish on Memorial Day."

Installing stone veneer is not easy. Even faux or cultured veneer is heavy, and you’ll need extra hands—and the right tools—to set each piece safely. When installed correctly, cleaned, and sealed as needed, stone veneer can last 25 to 75 years. You can wrap the entire house in veneer, but keep in mind that every added square foot increases the total price by raising both material and labor costs. Stone veneer can be applied over brick, stucco, or other stable surfaces, as long as the base is clean, dry, and free of loose material.
