We are a family owned electrical company on a mission to deliver energy independence to our customers. We feel that with electricity being such a major part of modern life everyone should should have a safe and reliable electrical system in their home. We provide our customers with options to be less dependent on the utility grid through Solar systems, battery backups, standby generators, and EV chargers. We also ensure a safe wiring system through services like panel upgrades and premises wiring for your home or business. We strive to give our customers as much education as we can and, if applicable, several options, so that they can make an informed decision about what they need. We also hope to share the love of Christ with everyone we encounter. So if you have any desire to learn about what the Bible teaches us about our savior, we would love to talk about that as well.
"We Recently completed the construction of new log home in Harrison Maine and hired Origin Energy to do the wiring. We couldn't be happier with the work. Always on time an had some great suggestions for our customer like the pop outlets in the granite island that have an outlet, USB port and wireless charger built in Swift River Homes"

We design, install, and maintain electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial/manufacturing clients throughout Maine and its islands. Our team has the experience and drive to see your project through to the very end, always exceeding the expectations. With over 70 years of combined experience, there is no job we can't do (Power/service upgrades, lighting and lighting controls, Fire alarm systems, Mini-Split Heat Pumps, Generators, Photovoltaic Solar Systems and Battery Storage, Surveillance systems, and voice/data/video). Quality installations are key to the success of an electrical system, that's why we stand behind our installations with a 1-year workmanship warranty. We do it right the first time, but if something were to fail or go wrong we'll take care of it (for the first year) at no additional charge to you.
"After contacting a couple of other electrical companies, we chose to go with Simpson Electric and I’m very glad we did. Tyler Simpson and his team were very knowledgeable, professional, well mannered, prompt and understanding in getting the work we needed completed on time! Tyler thoughtfully looked at the project and helped us save money while getting a little more than what we asked for. They cleaned up the areas they worked in and performed some troubleshooting to ensure that everything was working as it should! I trust them wholeheartedly. I would call and/or recommend Simpson Electric anytime."

"Electrical and plumbing were subcontracted and I have no complaint on their work. However for the work this contractor performed.....It started out okay, complimented his work... But by the time the last of the porch repair and the bathroom reno was completed I realised I had made a huge error of judgement. He insisted in starting the porch work in the fall and then over the winter. When the ground thawed in the spring and the supports no longer met the concrete footing blocks, he used rigid foam boards to shim the concrete blocks up to meet the posts. The floorboards had been removed and proper footings could have been sunk below the frost line, instead it had to be jury rigged and as the ground heave sin the winter and thaws back down, I expect it to be only a matter of time before the folly of this becomes apparent and I will have to get a competent contractor in to fix it. The bathroom was to have a radiant heat floor put in, but the system installed is not meant to be used in a wet room. There is baseboard heat with a pipe running through the floor and that was "sealed" with a piece of moulding and if there is any problem with the heater or the pipe breaks it is harder to get to, nevermind just being able to clean it. I was concerned over the floor system and he promised me that a letter would be coming from the manufacturer saying the system was safe as installed. I spoke to a company rep and they cannot sign off on an installation that they did not witness. So I am unable to recommend this contractor based on any sense I have of his integrity. I am back to using a space heater and When I am able to I will have to have the floor taken up and the correct system put in. There are numerous other minor things, such as the laminate floor being laid with no regard to the pattern on the boards so the same pattern piece was used 3 times next to each other. I did look up how to install this type of floor and found plenty of instructive videos saying how the boards are usually separated by pattern and then laid down in such a way to be random and give the illusion of real wood. The result on my floor does not demonstrate to me an attention to detail. The light over the shower, an upgraded ceiling fan, an additional outlet or two were all part of the plan but were never installed. There were assertions like a new outlet would have cost $400. I checked with the electrician myself and was told that was not the price they would charge and did not understand why that would have been quoted. When issues were raised it was mentioned that he had a lien on someone's house who didn't want to pay for their finished projects. So, there is a lot of work to redo and since the money isn't there I will have to live with things as they are for a while. Not the result I was expecting after 6 months (way beyond the estimated time) of work having been done and at no small expense. I will try to post photos to illustrate what I have mentioned above."

A whole-house surge protector blocks voltage spikes from lightning, grid issues, or even large appliances before they can fry your wiring or electronics. By diverting excess current at the main panel, it shields everything from your HVAC to your phone chargers and can extend the life of pricey appliances. Homeowners in storm-prone regions or with older panels see the biggest payoff, but any home that relies on sensitive electronics benefits.
Most whole-house surge protectors work for two to three years. Low-level spikes—too small to notice—hit your panel every day and slowly wear down the internal components. Once the unit’s capacity is depleted, it can’t prevent a larger surge, so plan to replace it on schedule (or sooner if a major lightning strike occurs) to keep your electronics and HVAC equipment safe.
A surge protector begins guarding your circuits the moment an electrician snaps it into place. Whether the spike originates from a nearby lightning strike or your fridge kicking on, the protector shunts the extra current to ground before it can reach outlets or hard-wired systems, such as your AC. That instant response is why a small upfront cost can save thousands in appliance repairs.
The unit mounts on or next to your main electrical panel. Type 1 models sit on the supply side, catching outside spikes before they hit the breaker. Type 2 devices snap inside the panel and tame surges that start within the house. Either way, placement at the panel lets the protector guard every circuit at once.
Plan to swap the device every three to five years—or sooner if you upgrade your panel, add high-demand appliances, or notice flickering lights and tripped breakers. Relying on a maze of power strips is another red flag that your current setup isn’t keeping up. Replacing the surge protector at these milestones keeps your electrical system on safe footing.
