"Most of us like spending time outside when the weather is nice, and nothing fits that desire better (for us older folks) than a covered back deck or patio. We purchased our current home in 2018 as the second owners and almost immediately added a Sunsetter ® Motorized Awning for shade. That was a start; however, it didn’t protect us from the bugs, and we wanted it to be taller with a ceiling fan large enough to keep us cool. So, in the middle of last year, my wife Diana started looking at contractors that could cover and screen in a small (10’ X 16’) back deck. We planned to relocate the motorized awning to the concrete patio that was adjacent to the back deck (so we didn’t waste the awning!). My wife, Diana, chose DDR. The Managing Partner, Jesse Haffley, came to see what we wanted and, on the spot, based on the decisions that he led us through, was able to give us a fixed price quote. "I signed a contract on 07/01 and was promised a completion date from August 26 to September 29. The date came and went with no contact from the company. I set a second and third completion date that came and went with no contact with the company. I contacted them a fourth time, and we set up a fourth completion date with the understanding that if they could not complete it, I would get a refund within 3 business days. Again, this date passed and I got no contact from the company. I contacted them to make arrangements for my deposit to be refunded in full. They asked me to set up a fifth completion date, and they are now saying my deposit is not refundable. I want my deposit refunded in full and do not want to be in contact with a company that does not keep its promises. "

The room started leaking not long after it was installed, and instead of taking responsibility, they’ve been quick to place blame on everything but their poor craftsmanship. They’ve pointed fingers at my roof, the nails, and even the shingles—completely unrelated issues—just to avoid admitting fault. To make matters worse, their responsiveness has been appalling. It took months of relentless calls and emails just to get them to show up and inspect the issue. When they finally did, their solution was to deflect yet again rather than address the real problem. The entire experience has been frustrating and disheartening. If you’re considering working with this company, think twice. I wouldn’t wish this kind of stress and disappointment on anyone."
