Damian and the D Day Plumbing team were very professional and knowledgeable and provided an estimate with a couple different options and their related costs. They installed a new utility sink, sink pump, and needed piping and valves with tie ins to the main septic. They made improvement above and beyond the initial job breakdown, all the while staying within budget. I will certainly consider them again for any future work. The work they did seemed to be fine enough, but it was overpriced (I later discovered) and their communication at several stages was just abysmal. My attempts to have them remedy the shortcomings of their process gained no satisfaction. It also left a really, really bad taste to discover that their signs plastered all over the furnaces and water heaters in the basement of our condo building was not because they had some kind of relationship with the condo *and in most cases had no relationship with the equipment that their signs were on*. Just obnoxious. To top it all off, someone my email address was leaked from their organization which led to it being the target of hacking. How would I know it was them? They were the only company that I had given that particular email address to, Then they had the nerve to ask for a customer testimonial video. As if. Would not do business with them again."

"I would thank them for the work and services. Max was very prompt and polite. We were definitely taken aback with the bill. We were not informed about any of the charges around: 1. Time taken for pulling the permit(1hour@$180) 2. Time for inspector coming in(1hour@$180) 3. Price for permit These 3 costs total to $425. The material cost of $263 definitely seemed marked up. * I wish they had mentioned about expecting these costs so that we could make an informed decision. * We have had several permits pulled in last year ( had frozen pipe burst situation so had renovations going on for multiple months) and never were charged for the time taken to pull permit or for inspectors time at the time of inspection. * Max mentioned it was going to be $180 an hour and you were here for 2 hours from start to end.. The father(Peter) kept mentioning about the emergency charges that there are plumbers that charge $300 an hour, I was clear that we were okay with waiting for a couple of days so there was no question of those charges being applied. He kept giving an explanation of the bill being high enough but it seemed very vague. We were charge $1100 for 2 hours of work to fix a slow gas leak that National grid had identified and pointed to us so they shut of our gas supply. National grid guys had told us that it would be only 1-2 hours of plumbing work. I would not recommend them for sure for the sour taste it has left for us. I wish we went with presidential plumbing or 128 plumbing that we have gone in the past. They are expensive but you know the quote before hand."

Sump pump or interior foundation drains installations FAQs
Most 1/3 to 1/2-horsepower sump pumps use 1,300 to 2,900 watts to start up. Then, they use 800 to 1,050 watts to continue running until the reservoir is empty.
To find the right sump pump size, dig out your 18-inch-wide reservoir and observe the water accumulation on a rainy day. Start with an empty reservoir and watch the rainfall for one full minute. Measure the depth of the rainwater in inches and multiply by 60 to find the total number of gallons that build up. Multiply that number by 1.5 for a bit of wiggle room. If it’s more than 35 gallons per minute, get a 3/4-horsepower unit. Otherwise, 1/3 to 1/2-horsepower models will work.
If your sump pump is making a lot of noise, it may be time for a replacement. Other signs that your sump pump may be damaged include sump pump odors, a spike in your utility bills, or excessive pump vibrations.
You don’t necessarily need a plumber to install a sump pump. You may want to hire a handyperson or a specialized sump pump repair pro to handle the replacement or installation.
Not every basement needs a sump pump. You only need a sump pump if your basement floods during light to heavy rain. If you notice basement condensation instead, you might need basic waterproofing services.
