Gino Panaro is DIY Network's King of Dirt. He's definitely not what you'd expect from one of America's premier landscape contractors. He's a loud, bull-in-a-china-shop kind of guy who happens to create incredible beauty. For his landscape designs, Gino doesn't use a computer or fake graphic technology. Instead, he relies on his imagination, his hands and the help of his son Lance, who works with him in a family landscape business to create some of the most beautiful, high-end landscapes and hardscapes you'll ever see.
"Gene and Lance were great. It was easy to schedule and set up an estimate. Gene came out, did measurements, we talked about the issues I've had with the lawn in the past and future maintenance. He is very thorough and not one of those pushy salesmen types, which I appreciate. He gave me a very fair and realistic estimate and we decided to proceed with the project, which was also easy to schedule within the next 2 weeks. On "grass day", he showed up at the scheduled time with his crew and they immediately got to work. Throughout the day, his son Lance came with my topsoil and sod delivery, started watering the first half that was put down while his guys worked on finishing the yard, and gave me more tips on watering and keeping up the lawn maintenance. Overall, I had been struggling with my backyard having nothing but crab grass and bald spots, and they truly transformed it (you can see my Before & After pictures for proof), and my experience with Panaro was great!"

In the end, his cost was well below a new pipe which was not needed. I have now had him look at several other projects I have wanted to do over the years. He put thought into those as well and I’m sure he will do a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. He also put down mulch in the same visit, also at a very reasonable price. Again, this is company I would highly recommend. This comes from a homeowner of 25 years at the same location who has seen and spoken with dozens of contractors."

Sod installations FAQs
Seeding is less expensive up front compared to sod installation. However, sod provides an instant lawn with minimal maintenance, while seeded lawns require extended care and can take up to two years to fully establish.
“To determine how much sod you need, first calculate your yard’s total area by sketching your layout and multiplying each section’s length by its width. Standard sod pieces measure 2 feet by 1½ feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.
