"I told Luis I needed around 30 shingles replaced. He gave me an estimate which sounded reasonable. He showed up on time and started work. Its partially my fault I should have got on the roof to inspect the work myself. He replaced around 10 shingles and still charged the price he quoted me for 30. He would not provide a receipt after multiple requests. Avoid Lakewood Exteriors, Now I need to find a roofer to complete the job. I will not use Angis list for that search."

"there was only one guy to do the job, that is to replace my patio cover supporting posts i had three of them replaced. he replaced them with cedar which is alot better than what i had, stronger. he knew exactly what he was doing. he also changed from nails to screws when he attached the posts to the metal brackets. he also kept his area clean as he worked, any cleaning left after the job was done he cleaned it all up. very professional also answered all my questions. when i am ready to extend my patio cover i will be hiring him again. great job"

I had a complete tear-off to deck (2 layers) and several replacement skylights. Excellence Roofing gave me a competitive bid (not the lowest, but nowhere near the highest) I had 6 contractors providing proposals, although one of them never got back to me. Excellence Roofing had my confidence, and they got the job. From start to finish, Sal and his team performed to the integrity that was promised. I was kept informed and consulted throughout the job. I could see the attention to detail given by all. The job was completed in the expected timeframe, and passed inspection with no issues. Actually, the inspector commented on the quality of work. Flat roofs should generally be recoated every three to five years, depending on the climate. Since they don’t have a slope to help them avoid rain and sunlight, they wear out more quickly than a pitched roof.
If you have an EPDM rubber roof, it likely resists weather damage already and shouldn’t ever need to be recoated. Many roof coatings don’t work on EPDM roofs either, so make sure to double-check with the manufacturer before applying any. Most homeowners insurance policies only cover roof damage caused by single, specific events, such as fires, stormy weather, or falling trees. Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover roof coating or sealing since these are routine repair jobs that come with normal wear and tear.
