Established in 1933, Olshan Foundation provides cost-effective foundation solutions to residential and commercial property owners. We proudly service homeowners in Wichita from our office in Nearby Missouri. About a quarter of the homes we visit do not require foundation repair. Services are backed by an available warranty, friendly customer support and convenient payment options. Free, no-obligation structural assessments are performed by Certified Structural Technicians. Since no two homes are alike, our Technicians carefully inspect the problems affecting your home before developing a comprehensive repair plan designed uniquely to your property. Olshan is the exclusive provider of the Cable Lock ST Plus repair system. This hybrid design combines the penetrating power of concrete with the long-term durability of steel, providing a longer, deeper more secure repair. We also offer drainage and root barriers to help prevent foundation damage. Schedule a free, no-obligation assessment now. Your home’s structural integrity depends on the strength of your foundation. It supports everything else – walls, windows, floors, doorways, roof – so when your foundation is damaged, it can cause serious problems throughout your home. Like most things in life, your foundation is subject to environmental stress. Expanding and contracting soil, excessive moisture and inadequate drainage are some of the most common threats to your home’s foundation. Over time, environmental stressors can cause a foundation to shift, crack or settle unevenly. And homeowners often miss early warning signs of foundation damage. Homeowners spend about $4 billion annually stabilizing faulty foundations, and those costs may increase as more homes are built in areas known for shifting soil. Understanding risk factors and signs of foundation problems can help you protect your most valuable asset from irreversible damage.
"Terrible service, our front was sinking due to our fireplace. We got a quote ($28,000), for their "patented" footings - enormous metal poles under each of the house supports for the front. Pretty slick snowjob, they quoted us 3 days but took 5. They dumped all the concrete they removed in the backyard without asking and left an enormous hole in the front of the house where the fireplace is. When I (5'1" femme) asked to speak to a supervisor about the delay and dumping, they sent a good old boy (300 pds, 6'2") to scream at me in my living room. No supervisor was present to verify the work and I was not permitted to watch them. They pressured me to sign the inspection form, without me inspecting anything. They are a SCAMMMM! I would only recommend Olshan as revenge."

Serving St. Louis since 1955.
"I hired Quality Waterproofing to extend a buried downspout/sump pump drain that was poorly placed by a competitor 4 years ago. The competitor placed the pop up drain 10 feet from the house in a low spot, which created a swamp. Quality did an A+ job fixing the problem. They were timely, professional and UNDER budget. Very honest and high quality work. They even did some extra sodding and dirt work at no charge."

French drains can last between 30 and 40 years, offering long-term protection for your home's foundation. They work by diverting both underground and surface water away from your property, helping prevent water buildup and structural damage. Opting for models with cloth filters can extend the drain's durability even further. Regular maintenance and professional installation ensure your system works efficiently for decades.
You can install a French drain anywhere from two feet below ground to the level of your foundation's footings. If you're dealing with surface water like rain or snowmelt, a shallow drain might suffice. But if you're concerned about groundwater, you'll need a deeper drain inside your home. Contractors typically install interior perimeter drains beneath the basement floor's concrete.
Yes, interior French drains are very effective at preventing flooding and water damage in your home. When properly installed, they channel moisture away from your structure. If the perimeter pipe ever clogs, a plumber can easily access it for repairs. To maximize efficiency, it's essential to combine an interior French drain with a sump pump, which helps redirect water away from your home.
Certified professionals install French drains to ensure they work properly. You can hire foundation specialists, licensed plumbers, or experienced landscapers—all have the expertise and tools needed for proper installation. They design systems that redirect water safely away from your property. By trusting a qualified expert, you ensure your French drain will perform well and protect your home for the long term.
After installing a French drain, you should take a few steps to keep it working well. First, repair any areas of your lawn or garden that were disturbed during installation—this might include reseeding grass or replanting flowers. If you had the drain installed in your basement, consider upgrading your waterproofing for extra protection. Finally, schedule regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the system continues diverting water efficiently and protecting your property over time.
