They finished on time and left the home clean. So, when I was looking personally to have basement waterproofing (interior french drains and sump pump) along with radon mitigation, I received 3 quotes, of which theirs was the most comprehensive plan, and again not the highest quote overall. They finished the work ahead of schedule by bringing four workers the second day, were respectful throughout and left the area reasonably clean. "Bob and his sons saved my basement carpet from having to be replaced following a flood due to a leaking hot water heater.  Called Bob at 9 a.m.  He arrived early afternoon to review the situation.  Quoted $1500.  Hefty price, but, honestly, we were too desperate to price shop.  Basement is a home office with file cabinets, file boxes, computers/printers, etc.  Had his crew of sons come to house by 5:30 p.m.  Sucked up water with wet/dry vac, set up commercial dehumidifier and fans.  Checked on it for days with moisture meter.  Applied deodorizer.  Bottom line: Dried out the place such that we didn?t have to replace sheetrock, carpeting or padding. Vacuumed, cleaned (removed major water stains) and deodorized.  He and his sons are both personable and extremely hard working and efficient.  Everything happened as Bob said it would.  He was on top of the job.  We are very, very grateful.

"I am selling my home in Westchester NY and during the inspection process, it was discovered that there was mold in my attic. Obviously it needed to be removed at my expense. I initially called another company, one of those national franchise type remediation companies and I absolutely flipped out at their estimate and the scope of work they were proposing. A week in my house, we couldn't' sleep in our bedrooms etc. Thankfully my realtor remembered that she had worked with Frank, who is one of the owners of Eco Green Solutions, on another job. WELL the experience was amazing from beginning to end. Frank came the next day to assess the situation and provided a thorough and complete estimate by the next morning. "Bill is one gem of a person. He is prompt in returning your calls. He listens to what you need; takes time to explain things; never rushes; and never tries to sell you what you don't need. As an example, he told me that some of the areas I was asking him to clean could be cleaned cheaply by a maid service and I will save money! Or that cleaning of our hardwood will not get us much as it really needed a resanding. This is the second time we have hired Bill for carpet cleaning and I will definitely recommend him to any one without any reservations. "It went VERY, VERY WELL.  I couldn't be more pleased.  Peter, who set up the contract, listened sensitively to my initial ideas and devised solutions to some tricky issues. Johnn, the supervisor, showed up frequently and was gracious about following up with all my requests and feedback.  It was easy to reach them  by phone or email with queries. The team completed the exterior work and interior priming in August then accommodated a 3-month delay on completing the interior to give us time to deal with infrastructural issues. They also accommodated a 6-day interruption so that we could get everything set up for relatives staying with us for Thanksgiving. At no point in working with them did I ever feel rushed or pressured.
The workers, especially Rick and Joel, were courteous and very professional. They always showed up on time and worked intensely. They moved furniture and removed fixtures where necessary. They were respectful of our household rhythms and cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day.
The quality of their work was simply excellent. A kind of mesh was used during the initial preparation to smooth out uneven and cracked surfaces so that those surfaces came out looking like new. After priming, two coats of paint were applied. Taking great care not to damage our newly refinished wood floors,  they used drop cloths and painted with precision, leaving no drips or puddles. Every little aspect that was not to our liking was  promptly and courteously corrected.  Charges for the project adhered strictly to the contract and payments were well spaced; there were no surprises.

"Al Gallo and his team are wonderful, and this is actually the second or third time I've called on them to help with work at my mother's house. In the past, they've scraped and painted interior rooms, and replaced an exterior entry door. This time they were tasked with fixing large holes in the drywall left after an emergency plumbing repair, and with building a custom door casing to hide a plumbing pipe that was routed around the front door.
Al and I worked together to come up with a molding profile that would totally hide the pipe while looking appropriate for the style of the house and the location where it was to go. He worked closely with me and was very collaborative, suggesting changes and taking my suggestions as well. His crew then did a wonderful job executing our vision -- his carpenter Pedro is very neat and precise, and Christian did a wonderful job with the patching work on the walls. 
Not only are Al's prices more than fair, but if there are any issues at all, he will make sure the job is completed perfectly at no extra charge. (On a previous large interior painting job, he sent a crew back immediately to finish a few overlooked areas, no questions asked.)
More than anything, I appreciate that Al recognizes my experience and expertise, and never questions my judgements (sadly, a trait I often encounter as a woman speaking to other male contractors). He is a pleasure to work with, and always attentive when contacted. For painting, papering, and small carpentry/handyman repairs, I highly recommend Gallo.
