"Cesar completed a beautiful reconstruction of our patio paver project that was previously improperly installed by a different contractor in 2018. Cesar carefully evaluated the defects of drainage, lack of foundation base layer and grading that had led to a collapse. Each step of reconstruction was professionally completed, and itemized pricing estimates were clearly communicated and consistent with the final billing statement. I recommend Highland Hardscapes without reservation."

"I hired Jake to put in a fence for me in January 2022. I already had the back fence done and just needed the two sides done. He quoted me $6,679.84. My neighbor offered to pay 50 % of our shared fence. In fact, I gave my neighbor Jake info so they could use him for there other side of their yard for a fence too. Therefore, I was expecting to only pay a total for my fence of $5,009.88 because like I said my neighbor was paying 50% of our shared side which is a total of $1,669.96. Jake pulled a quick one on both me and my neighbor and when he was done with the project he charged us each $6,293.91. This is $1,284.03 over what we were each supposed to pay. Next issue is that Jake has been taxing all of his customers 8.81% sales tax on labor which is illegal. He can only tax materials, NOT labor. Therefore, I would encourage past customers to reach out to him to get refunds for taxed labor. I did not bring this to his attention until April 2022 so anyone who used him before this was taxed illegally. Third issue is that he put the fence post through my sprinkler system. I texted him April 23rd to see if he would not mind stopping by to fix the issue. He replied the same day and stated, Yes. I can try to fix that here this week. I will let you know which days 10 days goes by before he reaches out. At this point I already had issues which him not following through, communicating properly, or responding appropriately and I was having a path put in where the leak was post pointing this project until the issue was fixed. It is also now May 2nd and I still am unable to water my yard and am worried it will die on me. I had to pay another company $300 to come fix it. Fourth issue is that the gates that he installed do not open or close. The gates lag and the latches do not line up. Immediately when he put the unique latches on I asked him to put on the standard latch because I could not open the gates with the latches he put on. I either messaged him or told him in person a total of 3 or 4 times about this issue and he never fixed it. I had to purchase the equipment myself and perform the labor myself of redoing the fence gates. I gave him work, I had my neighbor use him, I add my Uncle Dan use him for a fence (which he hates the gates too and had to redo them as well), my other Aunt Darcy and Uncle Tory use him for a fence and if I had to do it all over again I would have used someone else and never have given him business from my other family members. My family had to reach out to Jake to get refunds/returns on the labor that he taxed them too. Lastly, Jake was supposed to install trees and put in a path for me. I gave him a budget that I could afford. He gave me two options to choose from. I did not like either but he did not put in the work to send multiple different options. Instead I had to put in all the work for looking for what I wanted. Then he scrutinized me by saying that I was wanting things for under value which was not the case at all. I gave him a budget of around $20,000 to work with, he was going over the cost of what I could afford, when I would ask for other option he would give me none but imply that I was not wanting to pay for the materials for what they were worth. Bottom line, I do not recommend Jake. He and Pierce are the only two workers. He is way in over his head. He has become too busy that he is loosing qualities that I saw in the beginning which was a bright future, swift responses, great customer service and fairness. Now he never answers his phone, does not email back in a timely manner, does not text back appropriately, and is one of the worst communicators I have come by."

"Jack helped us long distance to restore our yard after a car plowed through. We live out of state and rent the property. He designed the yard to protect any future mishap with large boulders that look great and add to the Colorado surroundings. Then he carefully placed new plants. When the fence materials from his supplier were subpar, he stood behind his work."

The best time to level a yard is in the spring when the soil is an ideal mix of moist and dry. Completing your leveling project early in spring also reduces the chances of erosion damage from water movement through the spring and summer.
The average time to level a yard is five to six days. Smaller yards and projects may be completed in as little as a day, while larger projects may take up to a week.
If you only need to regrade a small area—for example, around a mailbox—DIY resloping may be manageable. However, major releveling projects such as resloping an entire yard typically require a lot of labor and heavy equipment operation, which is generally best left to the pros.
