The person who did the actual repairs was very thorough. He did find an issue and corrected that problem, did an overall check of the rest of the roof, and corrected some other areas. Gary Stanley is a true craftsman who works to his high caliber of doing any job the right way . The simple replace the trim & water damage fascia around the front window became a nightmare of water damaged wood more extensive areas connected to weightbearing boards. Gary showed us the problem and explained what needed to be done. With approval, he proceeded to perform a tricky repair using a jack to prevent the window failing. He is one of those guys who measures twice & cuts once. But he is dead on the money with reframing and adding extra support in that system so I am confident that he not only fixed the problem; he has prevented any major downstream problems. Another unexpected problem happened when Gary was going to fix a leak in our porch roof. What looked like a caulking job has turned into removal of water damGe stucco & trim to replace. But also he had to repair a bad roofing job where they cut shingles way back from side of house & did not put flashing. We found our same shingles at Beacon Building and Gary reshingled the area which was about 1/3 rd of porch size. He was so careful to rebuild the valley and cut shingles to perfectly match the pattern along with replacing flashing; tar paper ; and moisture barrier. He does what I call a triage of the problems and discusses his plan of attack with me. Then he methodically goes to work . Even after a long day on the ladder or scaffold; he always cleans up the area never leaving a mess. He is a polite, amiable young man who I find to be good hard-working man who is honest as day is long. We still have work going on but I go to sleep Thankful for this fine Handyman and plan more jobs in future where I only want him to do…."

"The home was older with 2 working systems and an abandoned system, this had been revised over the years before I purchased the home so I am sure the configuration was complicated. Several things they fixed correctly, however, when the new duct work was installed neither of the guys that originally evaluated the system was present and some of the duct work was not installed properly - ducts were left too long and kinked into spaces reducing airflow and two supply lines were also connected to returns. I actually felt the cold air blowing out of both the supply and return ducts so I know the wrong ducts were connected in two rooms.  Old duct work that had been connected to a newer system was not recognized in the original evaluation so was not replaced and those rooms went from poor air conditioning to no air conditioning. Two companies I asked to review and estimate corrections to the Tasco repairs both checked the abandoned system for working ducts as part of their review and mentioned that is a common problem they always look for. Laine, who originally inspected the system and recommended the repairs, and is the reason I chose Tasco, never returned to the property again...not to oversee or check the work despite my request to do so. When it was time for the inspection, Tasco was suppose to be present but did not show up and the inspection failed, requiring a repeat inspection and another afternoon of my time. There was a representative from Tasco for the second inspection. In their defense, Tasco was responsive to my calls and was going to try to address the problems but by then I felt it better to use a company where the same person would supervise all the work for the revisions and anything new I needed in the future.
