He came up a two different quotes..for outside painting and caulking around the chimney $700..then he said he would sand and revarnish our inside ceiling for a total of around $2000. We agreed. He then told us he needed cash of $200 to purchase supplies..he followed us to our bank and even went inside, where we handed him $200 cash. He was supposed to return the following day but did not, instead, we received a call from him saying he was at Home Depot and needed more supplies than he thought and requested that we give Home Depot our credit card number to cover the additional supplies...our credit card was charged $155.24 on 2/6/25. He simply never came back to our home. He contacted us twice saying he couldn't come because of "daughter" issues, then another time due to problems at home. After he never showed up we asked for our money back, he texted me asking for my Venmo and said he would repay but never did. We have made several attempts to contact him but he will not respond, either by phone or text. Finally, just this morning 3/5/25 he answered his phone (I think because he did not know it was us)..we told him we wanted our money back..he just hung up! I now believe he is a scammer..it sure feels that way."
