Most pressure washers deliver between 1,000 and 5,000 PSI, depending on the type.
Pressure washing your deck is effective for quickly eliminating dirt, grime, and mildew, and this technique is suitable when the deck is in sound condition. The ability to clean without altering the surface structure makes it ideal for maintenance; however, if your deck requires surface preparation for refinishing, sanding may be preferred. High-pressure water can remove the superficial buildup while preserving the natural texture of the wood.
