"Porter Contracting did a fantastic job on my kitchen remodel. Will scheduled the estimate right away, and the work began rather quickly considering the current demand. Quality and communication was spot on. I appreciated the recommendations along the way on certain mechanics that I didn't consider. My kitchen turned out beautiful and I will definitely be calling them back for future projects."

"From start to finish CMR Home Solutions exceeded all my expectations! As a family owned and operated business, Chris and Ericâ s commitment to quality is rare among contractors these days. We asked the brothers to install a Fir Wood beam mantle above our new fireplace to match the same type of wood the doors in our house are made out of. When the beam arrived, the brothers called to inform us that they were not pleased with the quality of the beam and refused to put something in our house that was less than perfect. Our home is super modern and the beam was delivered with holes and knots that gave it more of a rustic look. Chris and Eric searched for a beam that was in excellent condition that would match the modern look of our home. When they were unable to find one, they had a beam custom made for our home at no extra charge!! Iâ m incredibly busy with a lot on my plate at work, so I canâ t tell you how much I appreciated their constant problem solving to make sure everything was done on time and with the utmost care. I would highly recommend CMR Home Solutions to anyone looking for a contractor who does business with integrity and excellence!"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
