GSDesign is a professional, licensed architectural design firm with over 25 years of experience. We provide thoughtful, resolved design solutions that both inspire and function for everyday use. The process typically begins with extensive dialogue that determines the customers wants, needs and wishes. Once these are determined and prioritized, we set out to build the solution on paper for the customers review and final approval. Upon approval, the construction document phase can begin. Here we assemble the construction set for City permit submittal and approval. This is a big undertaking for most homeowners. Because of this, we do not take this responsibility lightly and relish the opportunity in helping the customer realize their dreams. Thank you, Gary Sumberg
"I highly recommend Gary Sumberg for any home Architectural Drawing and Design work. Initially we had some rough ideas on what we wanted to do, but we were unclear how these ideas would affect our budget, or how to implement them. Garys experience and knowledge in construction and design helped us come up with a design that met all of our wants and needs. Through the entire process, Gary was very helpful and patient with helping us design our entire home remodel. Gary met with us on many occasions throughout the process. He is very prompt, and was very responsive to our calls, texts and emails. Gary would quickly prepare draft ideas on paper so he could present them to us for consideration in person, or via email. Gary worked with the Power Company to ensure we could move our electrical panel, and he brought in an engineer to prepare the necessary Engineering report, since we were making so many structural changes. Once a final plan was determined, Gary quickly finalized the drawings, and he made multiple copies for us, the city, and our contractors for bidding. Gary then met with the city of Laguna Niguel on multiple occasions to present our plans and to respond to their comments and questions. In the end our construction permit was obtained, Gary made this permit process very simple for us. In summary we were very happy with Gary and would use him again, and would heavily recommend him to our friends. Building design services FAQs
In most cities, you’re required to have a building permit in order to construct a pool house on your property. The exact type of permit varies by region—in some areas, it might cost as much as $2,700 to get the necessary permits, while other cities don’t require any permits for structures under 200 square feet.
If you’re building a custom pool house, you can expect the entire process to take two to three months from the design phase to the end of construction, or even as much as a year for very large or complex pool houses. If you’re installing a prefabricated kit or shed, the process is much faster—usually one to three days.
Most pool houses can range from 100 square feet to 800 square feet. Smaller pool houses are about 100 to 150 square feet, while a spacious pool house is at least 300 square feet.
