"We were very pleased with the overall process and the journey with Adam, the Owner, and with Carlos and team. Adam communicated the daily process and is fair, reasonable and thoughtful. He regularly visited the site and was vested in the project. Carlos and team were very knowledgeable, pleasant to work with and worked hard and quickly... And they cleaned up at the end of each day. Adam has very good resources for materials and design advice, for cabinetry and for kitchen and bath construction. They went above and beyond trying to install a kitchen faucet that we ordered and it turned out to be faulty to no fault of their own - but nevertheless worked to make it right. We are grateful for their work and the opportunity to work with them. We would highly recommend Gold Standard."

"Alex (Project Manager) and his team were very Professional and did an outstanding job from start to finish! Alex was quick to contact me and set up a convenient appointment time to meet that fit my busy schedule. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a timeline with exact dates and times that his team would start and finish. His costs were very reasonable and on par with other estimates. This was right before Thanksgiving and his team was able to finish up right in time for the holiday. The painters were very meticulous, worked extremely hard, and cleaned up everything everyday. I cannot say enough about the great service we received. We will definitely use them again. Thank you."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
