Explained why my wall was not weight-bearing after crawling up in my attic, pulling back insulation, and taking pictures of the top of the wall as well as of my trusses. He was the fourth person I had contacted for a quote on removing the wall after the other three contractors offered me quotes to put in beams â because it was weight-bearingâ (they didnâ t go in the attic). Decided to talk with an engineer instead of a contractor, so called him after seeing his contact info on Angi. Forever grateful to himâ the highest quote to put in a beam was 12K. *And* on top of everything, he didnâ t charge me anything, even though I offered to pay him for his time. Iâ ve saved his contact info for future projects."
