"Recently our retainer wall had started failing. We found a company to install a new retaining wall on the Angi site after reading the great reviews for RC Pro Solutions. Patrick Bonaparte was our contactor, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. He walked us through every aspect of the project, provided great suggestions, listened to what we needed and was respectful of the budget, especially when we were at the stone yard to select our materials. His company not only did a spectacular job, but they exceeded our expectations!! We also had an extremely tall tree in our back yard located very near our roofline and deck. Patrick pointed out that it was rotted at the top and precariously close to our roofline and deck if it fell at some point on its own. While they had the equipment on site, we negotiated to have it taken down. In the process, a portion of that same tree hit another branch as it came down, and that branch tore a huge hole in our deck. It happened right when Patrick arrived on site to get a status on the project. He discussed what happened with us and offered a solution that was more than fair and reasonable. Before his crew left our property, they repaired our deck and re-painted that section where you can never even tell any damage occurred. Concrete deliveries FAQs
One yard of concrete covers a different area depending on its thickness. At four inches thick, one cubic yard of concrete covers about 81 square feet. If you're pouring at five inches thick, it covers around 65 square feet. For a six-inch thickness, expect it to cover approximately 54 square feet. The thicker your slab, the less area one yard of concrete will cover.
The shelf life of concrete depends on whether it's wet or dry. Ready-mixed concrete in its wet form lasts approximately 90 minutes to two hours after water is added, so it is essential to schedule your delivery carefully. Bags of dry concrete mix can last several months if stored properly in a cool, dry place. Moisture exposure can cause the cement to harden or lose strength over time.
An average concrete truck can hold between eight and 11 cubic yards of concrete, although some larger trucks can carry up to 15 cubic yards. However, road weight limits often restrict the amount they can carry, so most deliveries are around eight to 11 cubic yards. Knowing this helps you plan the number of truckloads you'll need for your project.
Pouring concrete doesn't take very long once the truck arrives. One cubic yard of concrete can be poured in about 10 minutes. Therefore, a full truck with 10 cubic yards of material would take approximately one hour and 40 minutes to empty. Keep in mind, though, that preparation and finishing work add time to the overall project.
