"I hired Cloud 9 to remove an old shower and install a new, much larger shower. From the initial meeting with Jeff we were impressed by his professionalism and the level of detail around the estimate and installation plan. From the time we paid the deposit we received good communication from Jeff around the status of the materials. We were very happy by the quality of work done by the two Ron's. We were so impressed that the work was completed in just two days and is everything we wanted."

"Outstanding Job: Mark & his father did excellent work ensuring door removal done right along with redo of Living Rm/Dining Rm opening enlarged 6 inches to properly fit new Iron Pet Gate w/Spring Action Hindge/Locking Latch. New Pine Trim matched to existing Trim/Redone. Stained/Polyurethane & sanded properly too. Loved the final look. Not just accommodates new gate but opened area to allow better air flow for airconditioning. Outstanding cleanup & attention to detail. Plan to use them again for major Spring project/remodel of extra side-wall cabinetry/storage needed. Highly Recommend."

"Tim painted the entire interior (trim, doors, ceilings, wall) of my home that I recently purchased. He is experienced, friendly, prompt in communication, and fair in pricing. He knows a lot about what kind of paint to use for different purposes and also uses good quality paint. I was very pleased on how my project came out and would definitely hire him again if I needed more painting done. I would very much recommend him to anybody looking to have painting done."

"There is no category to describe all the work that James did for us. Our large house had not been painted in 15 years. We needed lots of prep work before it could be painted. He replaced countless trim boards, siding boards, weather stripping, and windows. The painters found a couple of spots that needed fixing after James had finished and been paid. He came back and promptly fixed them at no charge. He always has a smile, responds quickly in communication, is fair with his pricing, and stands behind his work. We were very impressed with the quality of his work and the thoroughness. We would recommend him to our family and that says a lot."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
