"Dave, our sales rep, went above and beyond, by coming to our home to cut our new downspout so the heavy water flow would be rerouted away from the house. He didn't charge us and helped us out as the All Gutters Inc who Ecmr used for our gutters, wanted $150 to make the cut. Dave brought all the right tools and was pleasant as he repaired their work. We love our new metal roof and we appreciate Dave and everyone at Ecmr who make dealing with them a real pleasure."

The quote was fair, Ronaldo was always available and responded quickly to all of my questions, and the crew was hard working and meticulous. Did you know that it's unwise to spend too much but it's worse to spend too little? How do you choose the right contractor? First, they should listen to what you want to have done, then they should take a look at what needs to be done. Our certified expert will provide a full inspection of the problem areas. We will take digital photos of these areas, and provide a complete color coded plan so that you can see what we saw. IN EXCHANGE FOR OUR TIME AND EFFORTS, ALL THAT WE ASK IN RETURN IS THAT ANYONE WHO WOULD HAVE INPUT BE PRESENT TO DISCUSS YOUR OPTIONS. We believe that this approach provides everyone with the best way to make a good informed decision. If you agree, please call us now. You'll be glad you did! Since 1969, GF Sprague has worked with discerning homeowners who buy the right job at the right price.
"I had a small leak. Sprague quickly diagnosed the need for a very expensive roof repair. I also had a skylight that was dripping and decided to replace a group of four skylights. The work was spread out over a longer time than anticipated, which Sprague said was due to unusually wet weather. As far as I can tell as an amateur looking up at the roof from a distance, the quality is good but only some winters with no leaks will confirm that. They put some rather conspicuous shiny white concrete in one small part of a strip of gray concrete but said it would eventually weather to the same color. The substantial problem came over the skylights. My existing skylights came with retractable shades for those summer days when sun shining through the skylights could be blistering hot. During the initial conversations, we focused on whether we would be able to use the old shades or would have to replace them. When the job was done, there were no shades and they were emphatic that the shades were not included despite our detailed conversations about them. The wood just inside the skylights had been replaced and needed to be overlain with higher quality wood and painted. I had assumed, based on our conversation, particularly about the shades, that doing these things was part of the job. But I didn't explicitly write the shades into the contract. Regarding the wood, they pointed to a sentence deep within the many pages of the document that left me responsible for any inside work. I had seen that but never imagined that the wood they used would have to be covered up with higher quality wood before it could be painted. I was quite surprised, particularly when I found out that this residual work, requiring a carpenter, a painter and a shades specialist, would cost several thousand dollars. I felt stupid to have relied so heavily on the conversation and to have signed off on something that only a professional would understand. In the future I would recommend having a specialist lawyer review any contract. It would have been much more professional of them to clarify at the beginning how much would remain to be done after they finished what they understood to be the job. Finally, a small thing: They didn't clean up carefully. Left in the yard were things like a roll of what looked like insulation, thirteen pounds of copper nails (I weighed them), and other stuff. I didn't feel comfortable throwing all those copper nails in the trash, so they sit in my garage pending possible donation to some workman standing outside Home Depot on my next trip there. Because of a previous experience with Sprague, I made a point of asking them to be sure to take away the advertising signs they had placed in my yard; they promised they would, but they didn't."

A little about Skyway Exteriors I have been heavily involved in the construction trades since I was sixteen years old. During that time I have installed thousands of replacement roofing projects. I owe much of my success to all of the quality tradesmen, coaches, teachers and family members that have helped me over the years. I work hand in hand with my crews. When it comes to protecting your home from Southeastern Massachusetts, you can trust we have the expertise. Our strategically sized operation enables us to give you the personal relationship you deserve and the quality workmanship that you require. Skyway Exteriors, specializes in residential roofing. From our initial visit we will always give you an honest opinion at what condition your roof is in. We can identify whether you are a candidate for replacement roofing or a roofing repair service. We will always recommend a solution that fits your needs and budget. In our experience we typically see roofs failing because of inferior products, poor workmanship and ventilation issues. Most residential roofs are replaced, or at least repaired, every ten years. By carefully choosing your residential roofing material, as well as choosing a professional roofing contractor, you can help reduce the cost of replacement or push it far into the future.
"Tony is a great guy - friendly and a good communicator - answers the phone and responds to messages. The repair was quickly implemented at a fair price."

"One of the worst companies I have EVER dealt with in my life. Nothing but runaround, lies, and lack of accountability. They will tell you something over the phone, then when you follow-up, they will magically lose all records of prior conversations. I was told replacement windows would be ordered in June 2024 - never ordered. In January, ordered correctly with 4-6 week expedited delivery time quoted. Now in Feb, was told the windows would not be ready until end of March (total of nearly 11 weeks since order). Magically, they have no record of quoting me 4-6 weeks, though I have email records saying otherwise. Just a miserable company to do business with, would never recommend to any homeowner."

Metal roofs are not necessarily loud when it rains. When you hire a professional roofing contractor for installation, they’ll ensure it has the correct insulation and underlayment, making it no louder than other roofs. The insulation helps dampen the sound, so you can enjoy a quiet indoor environment even during heavy rain or storms.
While metal roofs are durable and energy-efficient, they do have some drawbacks. They're prone to dents and surface damage from severe weather, and improper maintenance can lead to corrosion if unsuitable materials are used. Extreme climates can stress the roof's integrity, so choosing the right materials and getting professional installation is essential to avoid damage.
Installing a metal roof over your existing shingles isn't recommended. While it might seem like a cost-effective option, putting a metal roof over asphalt shingles can create a moisture barrier that leads to mold and performance issues. Removing the old roofing material ensures proper ventilation and a secure installation, protecting your investment in the long run.
Metal roofs need regular maintenance to stay durable and efficient. Annual cleaning and periodic sealing are essential to protect the roof from debris build-up and prevent corrosion. You should schedule yearly inspections, clean the roof to remove dirt and potential corrosive agents, and seal it every 10 years. Roof cleaning costs between $150 and $1,000, and sealing costs range from $150 to $5,700.
You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but extra care is required during the installation. Metal roofs' thermal characteristics require specific spacing and secure mounting techniques to ensure the panels work efficiently. Installers need to account for the different heat dissipation of metal compared to asphalt to prevent overheating. Professional roofers can ensure the safety and efficiency of both your roof and the solar panels.
