We are prepared to run emergency handyman services during the COVID19 outbreak. Your local handyman company provides exceptional service, with even better craftsmanship. We have been in this industry for the past 15 years. We take pride in our work, and back it with excellent customer service. Taking care of our customers and protecting their home is our top priority.
"We had a terrible, stressful experience with Sexton Home Improvement and Repairs, Inc. We terminated their employment because they did not follow building code when working on our home. We are relieved that another company working on our home caught the violation. It is upsetting that the financial integrity and safety of our home was jeopardized. They also constructed a very unlevel subfloor that had to be corrected. Rather than acknowledge or apologize for this error, excuses were made saying that the new subfloor ¨matched¨ the outer edges of the existing floor. A properly built floor will be level from one end all the way to the other, not just on the outside edges. This is a basic expectation of good workmanship. We were disappointed that even after showing the Sextons multiple pictures of the unlevel floor, the messy releveling process, and paid receipts, they still denied it was unlevel. Additional problems with this company included contradictory time frames for job completion. This created a lot of confusion for us about the job scope and estimate. Additionally, receipts for the ¨approximated materials allowance¨ were never submitted to us. This was troubling as the job was not completed, and we had to purchase the remaining materials to finish the job. These faulty jobs cost us: extra money, extra time to correct, added mess and inconvenience plus loss of trust in their company. Their lack of communication before termination (over a week) also added to this loss of trust. We have worked with numerous companies in the past, and this is the first negative review we have posted. We believe it is important to share our experience and reasons for not recommending this company."

Celebrating 45 years in business.We provide fine Italian craftsmanship for all of your tiling needs! We are a family business and we personally do all of our installations and take real pride in it. We Do not use sub contractors! The only tile installers that you will deal with are Nino, Tony, or Vito. This is the only way to control the quality of our installation. There are no other tile contractors in Chicago with generations of experience on their side. We provide our installation services in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Travertine is a natural limestone cut into slabs and processed into tiles. In contrast, porcelain tiles are a form of ceramic made to mimic the look of natural stone. Travertine is porous and less durable than porcelain, which is extremely hard and resistant to scratching and water. Natural stones like travertine are also more expensive than ceramic tiles. Travertine tiles last between 75 and 100 years when installed correctly and maintained with the proper care. By regularly cleaning with the right products and handling furniture moves carefully, you ensure the tiles retain their natural beauty and strength over time. Consistent maintenance, including proper sealing, keeps your travertine floors durable for decades.
To reseal travertine tile, start with a thorough steam cleaning of the tile and grout to remove dirt and debris. After cleaning, apply a high-quality sealant to protect the tile surface. Sealants cost between $30 and $40 per quart, and professional resealing services charge $1 to $2 per square foot, ensuring your tile remains protected and visually appealing.
