"Not “Woman owned and operated” as described. In hindsight I should’ve read and believed the other one star reviews. Day One the contractor arrived, reviewed the 10 project requests on site, explained he was only able to complete 3/10 projects..odd as the company described contractor as having 30+ yrs experience? Measurements were taken for the 3 projects, promises were made that the company would return to complete the projects with lumber in hand, I was made to pay a deposit. Day Two contractor arrived 30 minutes late no lumber in hand, took SEVEN hours to install two ceiling fans and one screen door. Day Three contractor arrived TWO hours late still not able to complete project due to not having enough lumber and/or wrong sized lumber? Day Four (after I reached out to the owner) a different contractor arrived and completed the project. $1,915 later the screen door has two gaping holes at the bottom, the hand rail installed (by first contractor) is shaky and the requested Veteran’s discount was not applied. So many lessons learned."

Dash construction is a full service general contractor. we are a small company with an exceptional line of sub contractors that are both reliable and quality driven. "Be aware!- He overcharged us for materials and at the end of the job tried to charged us extra money for work done under the original contract or for repairs to damaged areas caused by his workers. We went to BBB arbitration and won the case against him and he got his BBB accreditation suspended. See below the decision of the BBB arbitrator in her own words: ***In review of the testimony from both parties and the evidence presented, the decision for this arbitration is as follows: Award: Consumer seeks a refund of $2,460 for overpayment of materials Concerns regarding the difference in the amounts should have been discussed and resolved prior to the final payment being remitted. Costs of materials as charged by a retailer to a business may or may not include discounts. Receipts obtained from the consumer from the retailers who sold Mr. Rinaldi of Dash Construction materials for the contracted job (brick/stone and windows) varies in amount from what Was actually charged to customer. Careful review of the testimony and evidence presented during the hearing was the compelling evidence of numerous examples of concerns with the credibility of Mr. Rinaldi with regards to providing transparent estimates, billing, and invoicing for materials and labor. As such, the intent of credibility and character of Mr. Rinaldi results in the decision to award the consumer's request for a refund in the amount of $2,460. Denial: Business seeks payment for additional work totaling $3,230 The existence of a contract may or may not involve revisions. Verbal conversations are enforceable When requirements of a contract are present. The payment in the amount of $66,288.00 for work Contracted was paid in full by the consumer. After final payment for the work contracted was received, Mr. Rinaldi invoiced the consumer for additional work completed. Outstanding payments for work done within the scope of the project should have been brought to the attention, discussed, and resolved prior to the final payment being requested and final payment being accepted. In addition, Mr. Rinaldi signed a waiver of lien for the consumer's mortgage holder, implying no additional charges were outstanding. The evidence and testimony provided by Mr. Rinaldi was not compelling to award $3,230 to include the Witness statements presented as evidence which lacked credibility.***"

Pocket doors are more expensive than standard pre-hung doors. While a standard interior door installation costs around $150 to $200, installing a pocket door can run from $1,000 to $3,500, especially on existing walls. The higher price is due to extra work like demolition and modifications. While more costly, installing pocket doors offers benefits like saving space and modern aesthetics that are worth the added expense.
To frame or retrofit a pocket door, you'd need to modify an existing wall to fit the door and its hardware. This process involves opening the wall, ensuring the door has space to slide, and adjusting any wiring or plumbing inside. After creating space, a new frame and track are installed so the door functions properly.
You can use some standard doors as pocket doors, but they must fit the required dimensions. The door has to slide smoothly into the wall cavity, so it must be the right size and thickness. Also, any existing hardware holes need to be adjusted or covered up to work correctly, increasing labor costs.
For a pocket door, you need enough wall space for the door to slide into. A standard 32-inch-wide door requires about 66 inches of wall space in total—including the doorway and the pocket. The wall you install it in should be at least four inches deep to fit the door's thickness.
Installing a pocket door usually takes about six to 12 hours. If your project requires extra work like wall modifications or electrical adjustments, it might take a couple of days. The exact time depends on your home's layout, the type of door you’re installing, and the complexity of the project.
Removing a pocket door involves more than just taking down the door. You'll likely need to open up the wall to access the door mechanism, adjust any wiring or plumbing inside, and then rebuild the wall afterward. Costs can range from $1,000 to $3,200, depending on how much work is needed.
