We are building the most customer-friendly construction company in the country! We offer wood fence and gate repairs and installations for homeowners in the greater Bay area. Over 11,000 happy customers are enjoying the fences we've built for them over the last four years! We were named Best of HomeAdvisor 2020, with over 2,500 public reviews across our existing markets at an average rating of 4.7!
"Remote sales and remote project management were ineffective. Provided me and installers with bad information and lesser materials. They ended up using some of my materials but still charged me for unacceptable material that was refused. Ergeon fell far short of expectations considering the high price. Would not recommend or use them again."

Anderson Fence Company
Our experience in the building materials industry dates back to 1919, in Lockwood, Missouri. Meek’s has earned the reputation of being a provider of expert services as well as quality building and home improvement merchandise. In 1951 Charles C. Meek Jr. ventured to Northern California and opened the first Meek’s yard on the West Coast, in Redding, California. Expansion continued in both the West and Midwest in the early 1950’s. With the addition of two more stores, one in Chico and the second in Redding, Meek’s grew quickly to become the market leaders. For multiple generations, families have counted on Meek’s to be there when they built or remodeled their homes. With an emphasis on community support, the basic philosophy of the company, “service to our customers, opportunity to our employees,” has never changed since the first yard opened many years ago. Meek’s Lumber & Hardware currently has locations in Redding, Anderson, Chico, Yuba City, Tahoe, Carson City, Vacaville, Rocklin, Martell, Yreka, Meyers, and Gardnerville.

Yes, you need to galvanize your wrought iron fence to protect it from rain and ensure its long-term durability. Galvanizing adds a protective zinc coating to the iron, preventing rust and corrosion caused by moisture exposure. This process involves dipping the iron into molten zinc, creating a barrier against the elements. While galvanized iron comes pre-treated, regular maintenance like painting with special outdoor iron paint can further enhance protection and reduce the risk of rust.
An average wrought iron fence costs more upfront than a wood fence but offers greater longevity and lower maintenance costs over time. While installing wood fencing is initially less expensive, ranging between $1,700 and $3,900, wood requires regular upkeep and may need replacing sooner. Wrought iron fencing, though more costly initially, can last a lifetime with minimal maintenance, making it a better long-term investment compared to wood fencing.
Painting a wrought iron fence usually costs between $8 and $10 per linear foot when hiring a professional. If you choose to do it yourself, you can save on labor costs, but be sure to use proper materials and techniques to ensure durability. Depending on the condition of your wrought iron fence, it may benefit from rust removal and multiple coats of paint. Choosing the right paint can make your fence more attractive and increase its long-term durability.
With proper maintenance, a high-quality wrought iron fence can last anywhere from 50 to 100 years. Keeping up with regular cleaning and refinishing every two to three years will help prevent rust and keep your fence looking its best. Consult a local wrought iron fence professional for suggestions on how to extend the lifespan of this specialty fence.
