"We replaced my mother-in-law's roof (in Santa Cruz) completely, including new gutters, skylights, fasure boards etc. It was really on its last legs. We could not have had a better experience. Where other suppliers were slow to reply, Tony came back to us immediately. California Roof Technicians' quote was much, MUCH more reasonable than the other roofing contractors. He answered any questions we had about the details of the quote straight away. Staged payment: Paying the first half after initial inspection, tear-off and delivery of materials and the second half after final inspection was a very fair way of doing things. It gave us confidence from the start that we were dealing with a professional company. Tony went out of his way to ensure that we were kept informed as to what was happening. We needed to replace some of the plyboard under the shingles and instead of charging by the hour for each of the crew (which all other contractors had quoted) he charged us by the sq. foot. We were on a budget and it gave us the feeling that costs would not get out of control if anything unexpected happened. Not just cost but speed, efficiency, quality of workmanship, management and attention to detail were all incredible. Tony and his crew were also extremely neat and tidy and left the house and garden spotless (they even made regular sweeps with magnets to pick up every last nail). If ever I was going to recommend a roofing company, California Roof Technicians would be it. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone."

We are a local family owned home improvement company with a combined 30 years of experience in home improvement and construction. "I regret hiring Cobex to install a new roof on my house. They took five months to begin work and took twice as long as expected to complete. We asked the sales crew for custom skylights and to repair dry rot on the architectural details of the house. None of these details were passed to the construction crew and during construction, we were told the custom skylights would not be covered under warranty. It also became apparent that they did not have the expertise to handle the carpentry work for the dry rot repair. I had to manage the project daily to direct the repair work and point out corrections. In the end, we didn't get the skylights we agreed to and the dry rot repair and detail work was subpar. They missed areas of dry rot and used inferior wood. Also, Cobex did not tarp the roof before a predicted rain storm and damage was done to the interior ceiling, walls, furniture and carpet. Five other homes they were working on were also affected. I hired another contractor and did work myself to make repairs they missed since I did not trust Cobex's workmanship. We were given a discount but that did not cover the cost of additional repairs and rainwater damage."

Fast forward I called them again this time to repair metal flashings on Monday and spoke to Marlo. Marlo took my $475 up front and told me it will be 4-6 weeks out for repair - I said okay. The same day Marlo leaves me a voice message they have a technician available to come by the next day Tuesday. I wait for them the whole day nobody shows up I call Marlo back because of NO SHOW. I keep calling Marlo everyday and was told that I am in the queve NO technician showed up for the rest of the week. I took 5 days off from work to wait for them. This is unacceptable to me especially for a REPEAT CUSTOMER."
