"My association with Rober (Fine Arts Constructions) started at the beginning of my design process. Rober had done construction at my friends place and was highly recommended to me by him. I got valuable feedback from Rober throughout the design process, through permitting and until I got the permit approved. Permitting was during COVID times and permit approval took a really long time (8-10 months). But Rober was available whenever I wanted to consult anything with him. Post getting the permit, I paused my decision of extending my house. 7-8 months after my permit approval, I decided to start the construction. I called Rober and he was able to mobilize his team within 2 weeks. From the beginning till the end it took 5 months to get the construction completed (approx 700 Sqft addition). Construction process was as smooth as as it can be. Rober was always there when I wanted to consult anything with him (like on buying finishing material). When we faced any issues (construction/permit/design etc), we solved it together. Rober is very collaborative, knowledgeable and patient. He is a good project manager. He made sure that all the activities (including inspections) line up perfectly. It was really great working with him as well as his team. I had heard horror stories for my friends of going through the construction process. For me, working with Fine arts constructions was really smooth and easy process. I highly recommend Fine arts constructions. Truly professional and a great team to work with."

"A few years ago we did a simple remodel of two bathrooms in Menlo Park with FVR. By the time we finished the project we just wanted these folks out of the house. After a few years I felt it was necessary to share our negative experience and how poorly much of the work has held up. Specific issues; 1. Substandard workmanship: a. Heating vent under the house was left unconnected--I was heating our crawlspace and not the bathroom for 6 months. This went undetected until I went under the house for something else! b. Looking in my attic, the electrical work to hookup the bathroom fan is clearly not up to code--junction box is not closed and there are multiple exposed wire splices. c. Gang box for the newly installed light switch is clearly not level and out of square. 2. Numerous examples with low quality finish carpentry: a. Gouge on a newly installed sliding door from the aluminum frame--supposedly fixed then recurred. b. Spackle and paste used to patch the casing around the door frame where it contacts the bathroom tile--looks terrible c. A supposedly 'straight' wall that was rebuilt by FVR, clearly bulges with an obvious curve in the baseboard. d. Sloppy work on the plumbing cover plates for one toilet--half smeared with paint and not attached to the wall properly. 3. Low quality of painting: a. Two slightly different colors of white used in one bathroom with sloppy caulking around the trim. b. Numerous blotches of paint on hardwood floors around the hallway baseboard--the kind that would be easily have been avoided by using masking tape. 4. Sloppy personnel and poor cleanliness: a. Folks were working while we were on vacation, and we came home late in the evening to find construction debris scattered in our front yard including razor blades, paint on our front walk (where stains can still be seen). b. For a year afterwards we found trash (food wrappers & empty bottles) behind the bushes or buried in the shrubs. c. I saw workers 'free handing' a circular saw for trim and baseboard--where one guy would hold the boards and another would use the circular saw. For sure not a safe or effective option--just glad nobody was hurt at our house by these substandard practices. Nobody could be bothered to bring a jobsite saw. I will add that we pointed out most of these issues to the company reps while they were happening-- most responses 'Just an honest mistake' and/or 'We will send somebody over to fix that'. At a certain point you stop trusting anyone from the company and just want these 'less-than-competent' folks out of the house. The customer shouldn't have to check all these details--especially about heating/plumbing/electrical work. Would not ever trust this company again to touch our house."

"If you need a fantastic crew to install a new roof, look no further. Everyone was amazing from beginning to end. There was excellent communication. They put in more effort than any other team we have ever had to renovate our house. They are really open and truthful and wont oversell you. They want you to be satisfied and for the final product to be excellent. In the process, I conducted a great deal of research and invited other teams to submit bids. "I contacted Blues Bro back in late 2020 and then we went over some things. In the mean time I contacted other agencies as well trying to see where I get the most value for my money, it was here. I locked in the contract, to the person getting work done please go back and forth and negotiate. I hired them so that I would not have to deal with contractors for my adu.. I was happy on my results and how my project turned out to be. I gave my own rough blueprints to Blues Bros which helped a lot. Project mgn was Sussan and cordinators changed but Renne was very, very helpful. Payments were done in installs of each step the project goes through.. they have an app it tells you when the payment will be done. I bought most of my own stuff, even though they have inventory inhouse. I would recommend to future client, negotiate, read the contract and be upfront with budget and leave a little buffer. Have communication with both contractors and Blues Bros. Be on top of things right away from the first second. Get the number of the contractors and there boss and ask for weekly of daily status of work. If something is off have chat with both Blues and Contractors right away. Everyone has the same end goal, which is to finish the job so stay on top of it."
