Vergel Fence, Inc., has been in business for over 20 years and have been conducting business in Illinois ever since. We specialize in any fencing installs and repairs. We will warranty any work we do for you for 5 years on labor. We also provide you with outstanding customer service.
"Overall the project is not what was promised. I received a call from the person named Onofre, He introduced his self as the owner along with his son who was out of town.Son was due back by the weekend. However he wanted to see the project and give me a price. We agreed for him to come over. I am not sure of the exact date but he did come and inspected the fence and the gate.I told him that I received an estimate for the gate and the fence replacement for $2900.00. He said I did not need a new fence but I need to have the worn and damaged slats and replaced and nails repaired in the loose slats. He also said the wooden fence needed to be attached to the brick. He was adamant that he could repair the fence rather than having to install a new fence. I asked him about did he need a license from Calumet City. He replied no as he would be repairing not putting up a new fence. He gave me a price of $750.00. This was agreed to with a handshake. I asked did he require a deposit-he said "no" pay him when the job was completed. He returned the next day or two with 2 other men. They dug a hole in the gate area and returned the next day and installed the wooden gate. He then told me there would be a $25.00 charge as he had to purchase some hardware for the gate I agreed. The next day he told me the job was complete. I did not check at the time due to a family emergency. I walked outside with Onofre and handed him $780.00. I told him to keep the $5.00. The total amount I gave him $780.00.After reviewing the "completed" job I felt the work was not worthy of $775.00 and the $5.00 "tip." I called Onofre. He agreed to come out to inspect the project. It took him 2 or 3 appointments to meet me . He said he would come to the ally in his truck. He showed me around 6 slates he had replaced. He said the wood was rotten and the entire panels needed to be replaced. He had replated 6 slates. They were not fitted, some were not wide enough, some slats were the same height. The slats were not painted.The fence was not attached to the brick on the side of the house. This was noted at the initial inspection . He became a little agitated.He keep saying he was finished with the project. I asked him did he feel he did a good job .Onofre replied "yes." I asked him was this because I am an 77 year old black woman was this the reason he did a terrible job. He did not answer and took off in his truck. I am satisfied with the unfinished wooden gate, however I don't think the problem with the wooden fence been addressed properly. I never met the son and do not know what his position in the company."

"To be clear, I did not even make it to the quoting of my fence with this company since their customer service rep. Claudia was so rude. I tried to set up an appointment online, which was not working properly so I reached out through the contact us. Although the note states to email, Claudia called. Ok. I went over everything I wanted and needed with her. She asked if I had my plot of survey, I did not that was taken care of by the last fencing company in 2016. She called the village of South Elgin and confirmed the size of the fence and everything. However, when I spoke with her, she would request the plot of survey if they needed it. She emailed me back with the information about the fencing and that the survey was needed. I responded that she received it, correct? She didn't answer, so I followed up with her two days later and she said it was now up to the owner to receive a copy of the survey plot. If it is this difficult to deal with their customer service just to get a quote, I cannot imagine their services would be any better. She refused to set up a quote until I then went back to get the survey of plot."
