"Ilai from Simple Design & Build came in and fixed some terrible work a previous contractor did. The difference in quality work, communication and transparency was shocking. I have nothing but great things to say about Ilai and his team. They answered all our questions even on late times or last minute , insisted to make sure all of our concerns were addressed, and did it all in a timely manner. Our project came out beautiful and we thank y'all for helping us with the project! We plan to use SDB again in the future for sure!"

"Barak and David were very professional. They guided me through the whole process and were always available for question. That went out of their way to ensure that the project was completed to the highest standard and within our original budget. The final remodel exceeded my original expectations."

"Jose was easy to communicate with. We texted back and forth, I send him pics of my broken garage door, and he accepted the challenge (after another garage door repair company gave up). Jose was very professional, easy to deal with, and a down to earth relaxed guy. I will be recommending Jose to the other homeowners in our HOA and I will definitely use him again for future projects. 👍🏼👍🏼"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
La Mesa Addition & Remodeling Contractors are rated 4.5 out of 5 based on 71 reviews of 71 pros.
