"First phase was the tile. Durning that phase the contractor got the tile down. But in the process ruined my porch with an angle grinder cutting tile, and ruined my baseboard cutting it to fit tile. Johnathan said he would fix those items and needed more money and would be back to do it. Concrete was poorly fixed and didn’t fix the baseboards he ruined. He proceeded to do a bad job on the flooring. His crew had to come back fix that but never fully got fixed. He said these were warranty items and covered once balance was paid. We gave them several opportunity’s to fix things and they don’t seem to have the skill set."

"US Top Homes has no quality control and I feel like a fool for hiring them. I found uneven tile with low and missing grout. Cracks in grout before I’ve even used the bathroom. No caulk around shower fixtures. Electrical connections not in boxes. Visible gobs of joint compound dumped down the drain. Tape, screws, and drywall debris left in HVAC vent as well as left it hanging by one screw with a large gap. Spots that were completely missed with paint and gobs of joint compound on the top of the door casing. I spent many hours scraping paint and joint compound off of tile shower surround and floor, toilet, vanities, sinks, light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other areas of my house. All this after I met with them several times about all the problems with drywall finishing and painting. As I continue to clean and put my house back in order I find more and more shoddy work. I wouldn’t recommend this company and certainly wouldn’t use them ever again."

Travertine is a natural limestone cut into slabs and processed into tiles. In contrast, porcelain tiles are a form of ceramic made to mimic the look of natural stone. Travertine is porous and less durable than porcelain, which is extremely hard and resistant to scratching and water. Natural stones like travertine are also more expensive than ceramic tiles. To maintain travertine tile, avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals that may damage its porous nature. Use warm water, gentle cleaners, and a soft microfiber rag or mop to wipe the surface. Then, dry your floors with another clean rag or mop. You should mop weekly and wipe up spills as soon as possible to keep your travertine looking its best.
Hairline cracks in travertine tiles often originate from cracks or voids in the concrete subfloor. You can avoid this kind of damage by applying an elastic fracture-guard coating on top of the concrete slab before installing the tile. The coating provides the added benefit of locking away any moisture that might otherwise creep up from the concrete slab.
Travertine tiles last between 75 and 100 years when installed correctly and maintained with the proper care. By regularly cleaning with the right products and handling furniture moves carefully, you ensure the tiles retain their natural beauty and strength over time. Consistent maintenance, including proper sealing, keeps your travertine floors durable for decades.
To reseal travertine tile, start with a thorough steam cleaning of the tile and grout to remove dirt and debris. After cleaning, apply a high-quality sealant to protect the tile surface. Sealants cost between $30 and $40 per quart, and professional resealing services charge $1 to $2 per square foot, ensuring your tile remains protected and visually appealing.
