"Very mixed, to be polite. I chose Black Diamond because of all the good reviews here. I'm very disappointed at the company's lack of doing some basic things: Listen to the customer, act appropriately, not interrupt the customer (this for the owner, Chase), and show the customer you care about customer service. They've been out three times, and the two areas that I made clear were specific concerns were ignored the first time. The tech put bait and glue boards (to catch the fur of any animal to identify it) in a different area. Between the first and second service calls, one of my dogs killed a raccoon on the deck. That heightened my concern about what might be getting into my house. The tech looked briefly at of my concern areas and finally put bait in the other area. The third visit, a different tech said some of the bait had been eaten, and he found some pawprints there (never identified what it might be). He also suggested I might benefit from having bait stations put outside of the garage, as that's how mice usually enter garages -- and that was the focus of my concerns from the start. I bought two ($25 each), but he had none on the truck. I said that when he or someone else came to put the stations out, just to do it and not ring the doorbell. That sets off my dogs, who see it as a potential threat. I repeated that before all these later visits: First visit: Tech rang doorbell -- and had only one bait station. Second visit: Tech rang doorbell -- and he brought a trap, which he said was what his orders said. No bait station on his truck. Third visit (5/4/21): Owner rang doorbell. Stunningly, he has the second bait station. I started telling him about all the mess-ups, and he kept interrupting me, which is not customer-friendly. And he didn't seem to understand my point that if they don't have to come into the house or garage, and just need to do something outside the house, I don't want them to ring the doorbell. I said it three times. He said he always wants to let homeowners know someone's on the property. I understand, I said, but I've specifically asked your folks not to do that. Well, there aren't any notes on the account, he said. Well, that's not my fault. He said that if I'd told them that, it was their fault. I told him I doubted I'd continue with him and he said OK. Not a response that shows he cares at all. He'd earlier said that he'd check my calls and, if I'd said what I told him I did about the doorbell, someone would get in trouble. Have you heard of coaching employees vs. calling them on the carpe? As I began to go back into the house, that I've never run into a business owner so cavalier about losing a customer. You bet I canceled soon after I got inside. And I asked for a callback so that there's no confusion."

You're likely to find nesting birds in external areas such as your gutters, eaves, porches, and chimneys. Some birds also nest in less obvious spots, like attics or even in your ventilation systems if they gain access. A reputable pro will conduct an inspection before starting any work to check for evidence of where birds may have set up roosting or nesting sites in your home.
Leaving birds to roost and nest on your home creates significant risks that affect both your home's structure and your well-being. The constant droppings, aggressive swooping, and persistent noise can damage siding, allow moisture intrusion, and stain exterior finishes. In addition, the birds’ pecking and droppings can spread diseases and parasites, which can lead to escalating repair costs and health hazards.
Yes, humane removal is possible and ensures that birds remain unharmed during the extraction process. Experts use proven methods to safely capture and relocate both birds and their nests to secure environments. Professionals employ stainless steel spikes as a deterrent while avoiding harmful techniques such as poisons or glue traps. You can rely on trusted specialists who strictly use safe, noninjurious methods, thereby protecting the birds while resolving the nuisance.
Yes, there are legal considerations when removing birds and their nests. You must adhere to strict local and state regulations, which safeguard protected native species during nesting season. Special authorization is required to remove protected birds, their nests, or eggs under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Observing these legal mandates avoids violations and ensures safe, responsible removal.
To prevent birds from returning after nest removal, you can implement deterrent methods. Installing stainless steel spikes creates a secure barrier that prevents birds from roosting without causing injury. In contrast, loose nets may entangle birds and other wildlife, creating additional hazards. A trusted professional will choose and install the optimal method to keep your home bird-free.
A bird’s nest remains viable for a period that depends on the species. The construction phase concludes within 2 days to 3 weeks, followed by a rearing stage lasting 2 to 10 weeks. Most birds become fully independent within 2 to 6 weeks, while certain predatory species require up to 2 1/2 months. This timeline can guide you on when it's safe to intervene.
