Charged far more than verbally quoted. Rather than be truthful this ?contractor? just decided to start threatening to do damage to my property. Will be filing a complaint with CCB. Avoid this one. He?s a scammer. (Trying to charge twice what others quoted). Run!"

"Faced with an aging cedar shake roof, I had to deal with an HOA which required only cedar shake or tile roofs. My ceilings would not support conventional tiles, and I refused to put an unrated and unrecommended flammable roof on my house. After months of research, I found a 50 yr. guaranteed lighter weight tile from a highly regarded Canadian company. None of the roofers I contacted were interested in working with an unfamiliar material. Lorin, on the other hand, was enthused about the opportunity to try something new. It required an online training session and a fairly complicated process of ordering and receiving materials from another country another currency. Through the whole process, Lorin was upbeat and positive. And, I can't say enough about his crew who worked really hard in the most miserable of weather conditions. Thanks to Tru North I now have a Class A rated tile roof made of a composite material that looks like cedar shakes. "

Alywin's Crews were on time and cleaned up as they went, provided protection for our plantings, and did a complete sweep for nails and other debris when finished. My family is looking forward to having Aylwin do a full replacement this year or next with a full Tesla Roof. I was completely surprised to read the recent review regarding the quality of work done by Aylwin Construction at a local condominium. Over the past 20 years, as an owner of one of Portland’s larger boutique industrial real estate firms, I have recommended Aylwin Construction to my biggest and best real estate investors. Making a poor recommendation would reflect poorly on me and my company. "They replaced the rusted downspouts with new ones. All went well. When the gutters overflowed a week later I called Eric and he said he’d come out when it was raining again to see what the problem was. True to his words, he called and arranged to come out. He discovered that the gutters were full of leaf matter and unclogged them to allow the water to flow. It was not his problem but he took care of it at no charge. Very good people—efficient and honest."
