Critter Control is here for you every step of the way in the wildlife removal process. From inspection to removal, and even exclusion and repairs, we have the services you need to quickly get rid of raccoons, bats, rodents, and other nuisance wildlife. First, we identify the animal on the property, then, we use humane methods to remove the animal and repair entry points to prevent more from entering. For a complete restoration, we provide attic sanitization and clean-up. For wildlife removal near you, call Critter Control of Mansfield.
"We are very disappointed in their services. We had them look at 2 properties. We have yet to receive the receipts for the initial service for each location. What little service they have provided was not even worth the initial service fee. It took almost a month for them to get us the estimate and it was so overpriced. We have yet to get the estimate for the other property they looked at. We had a local company cap the chimney for a 10th of the price they quoted us. We received nothing for our money."

"I called for a bat exclusion inspection. First, (which should have been a red flag) they insisted I give them my credit card information before the visit. The inspection was $399 plus tax. The cost of the inspection would go towards the cost of the service as long as I used them to bat proof the house. The technician who came out was Mike Cottom Jr. He got to my house on time. He talked to me for about 10 minutes to get the information about the history of bats in my house. He spent about 5 minutes taking pictures and came inside to look at the two access holes the attic the electrician made to run some wiring. He said he saw no sign of bats, a colony or an infestation, just a small amount of bat poop. Then he went to his truck for about 20 minutes to write up the quote. Then spend another 20 minutes going over what he found. In total, he was here for about 1 hour. He never got up on my roof, which is one of the most likely the points of entry. There are huge gaps on either side of my attic dormer where it meets the roofline. The quote for exclusion was $5643.88. The first line item was caulking where the chimney meets siding. He guesstimated that was 60 linear feet. the total for caulking that area was $630. It shouldn't take more than an hour, maybe two if you are really slow to caulk that area. I am a paint and home repair contractor who has been caulking peoples houses for 25 years. I know how long it takes because Ive done it 1000 times. He also had $1700 for sealing the corner trim of the vinyl siding. Basically, stuffing it with steel wool and spray foam. I dont live in a mansion. I live in a very typical 3 bedroom center hall colonial. He counted 20 sections of corner trim at $85 per section. Seriously. He also quoted $995 to rent a lift to seal the three sides where the roof meets the soffit. If the 4 th side has to be done from a ladder, why cant the other three be done that way as well? Also, I rent lifts for a living. Its more like $300. He had $795 to install one bat valve. Basically, that a tube bats can leave, but cant come back in screwed onto the place he thinks is the point of entry. It takes about 20 minutes to set up the ladder, go up there, screw in the pipe and put the ladder away. He has $1470 for installing 6 "animal patches" where the roof meets the soffit. Basically, metal flashing screwed and caulked where the roof and soffit connect. If he knows how to measure, its a 6 hour job at most to do all 6 spots. He also wanted $390 to bend some hardware cloth and attach it to my bath fan and kitchen fan. Again, a crazy amount of money for a job that maybe at most would take one hour. The list he gave me is a one day job for two workers. The worst part is that even after charging over 5 times what a reasonable contractor would charge in labor for the services they are providing, they don't even guarantee you will be bat free! They only guarantee that no bats will penetrate the work they did. So, if they missed a spot bats can get in, you are back to square one paying them even more money to seal the spots they missed in there already expensive initial evaluation. Save your money, call someone else."

Kapp's is a family owned company of around 100 employees, no subcontractors. Quotes are free and based on the actual size of the area to be treated. We use only phosphorous-free granular fertilizers. Member of the Professional Lawn and Landscaping Network.
"I've been a customer of Kapp's Lawn Service for many years. To be up front, I do not water my lawn during the summer. I had a routine service, and it was very hot and humid. My lawn was not looking good. I called the office to cancel my service for the summer to let my lawn recover. I never complained about anything or anyone. A week later, Jim, the field manager came over and explained that Kapp's was going to aerate both my front and back lawn, and reseed it for FREE. WOW, that does not happen very often. When my lawn becomes healthy I will continue with their wonderful service. And they are refunding my last service call."

Pest control professionals can use poisonous bait, set traps, fumigate, or a combination of these treatments to get rid of moles. Depending on the method, they will return to remove the bodies or release the moles in a suitable environment far from your home (at least 5 miles). You can try to remove moles yourself using traps and repellents, but if you're dealing with a large infestation, it's better to hire a professional.
"Moles are attracted to a yard rich in food sources and loose, moist soil. They are drawn by abundant grubs, earthworms, and insects that make a nourishing meal for them. Moist, well-drained soil also enables easy tunneling, which further encourages these animals to inhabit your yard. Recognizing these factors can help you understand why moles appear on your property."
To make your yard less attractive to moles, alter your landscape to remove the conditions they favor. Install deep barriers around garden beds, clear out debris such as tree stumps and dead leaves, and manage grub populations actively. Incorporate plants known to deter moles, such as daffodils, marigolds, and garlic, to significantly discourage their presence.
Moles pose minimal danger to you. They do not carry rabies and do not bite humans under normal circumstances. Their impact is confined to creating tunnels that may cause minor lawn damage. In the event of a bite, immediate medical care is recommended to prevent infection and to ensure proper treatment, although bites are extremely uncommon.
"Moles, shrews, and voles differ in both appearance and behavior. Moles are burrowing mammals with large claws designed for digging and are focused on consuming insects beneath the soil. Shrews are smaller with clearly visible eyes, often inhabiting tunnels dug by others. Voles feature larger, distinct eyes and primarily consume plants and seeds. Understanding these differences helps in identifying and managing each pest appropriately."
