We are a full service Flooring Company specializing in Hard Surface Flooring such as: Installaion of Hardwood Flooring - Prefinished and Unfinished. Sanding and Finishing of your existing Hardwoods. Installation of Cork, Bamboo, and Laminate Flooring. Tile and Natural Stone, including Mud Pans and Shower Surrounds. Concrete Floors - Staining, Sealing, and Leveling. We also install Heated Floors.

We were very happy with the guidance and high quality work on our first project, so went straight back to DW the next time we needed flooring & tile. We have recommended them to family & friends. Laura was always available for us by email/text/phone, and met us in person at the DW showroom, our project site, and our residence- whatever was needed. 2) Conscientious installers. The folks who installed our flooring & tile took pride in their work and made suggestions on a few details that we didn't think about but probably would have regretted afterwards had they not brought them to our attention. I think that's a true tell for what you're getting with DW: everyone, through all parts of the business, is working to ensure a great end result. Project #1: updating downtown condo prior to selling Laura helped select wood flooring, carpet, countertops and paint that all coordinated with each other and uplifted our 8-year-old unit to the look prevalent in brand new buildings. This was our first time working without a general contractor, but Laura made it easy by coordinating schedules for everything, including with our painter. As unexpected details popped up during the project, Laura helped us figure out the best design choices and the finished product was really quite stunning. Our home sold very quickly for a great price, and we are confident that the high quality work on the upgrades was key to that outcome. Project #2: updating 100-year-old Capitol Hill condo Laura helped us with all major rooms: wood flooring in the living room & bedroom, tile flooring in the bathroom & kitchen and a new bathroom tub/shower tile surround. As in Project #1 she also helped us think through paint colors to coordinate with all the new wood & tile surfaces. The bathroom tile work is finished and looks fantastic, helped along by the installers pointing out some tile pattern issues that we had not fully thought through."

Choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile depends on your needs. Porcelain tiles offer exceptional durability and are ideal for high-moisture areas like bathrooms. Ceramic tiles are easier to install and provide more design flexibility. Consider your space's function, traffic levels, moisture levels, and your style preferences when making your decision.
To prepare your subfloor for tile installation, your pro will start by ensuring it's level and reinforced. A stable subfloor guarantees lasting performance. Your tiling pro can use fiber cement backboards or high-quality plywood to create a solid base. Proper preparation prevents water damage and cracking, leading to a durable, attractive finish.
Wait 24 to 48 hours after tiling before installing grout. This allows the thin-set adhesive to cure properly, ensuring a strong bond. Grouting too soon can cause misalignment and damage. If there's a delay, you can leave tiles ungrouted temporarily. Keep the surface clean and avoid foot traffic to prevent misalignment or cracking. This keeps your installation intact until you can grout.
