We are a 23 year old Tile and grout, carpet cleaning company that is locally owned and operated here in Garland. We only hire IICRC certified technicians, who work directly for us, and we maintain an "A" rating with the BBB. We use a professional truck mounted system called the Pro Chem 405, and all of our solutions are 100% water soluble, EPA approved, and pet and people friendly. We will sometimes assess a fuel charge of $12.95 or more, depending on the distance we are travelling to a job site, and there is an additional service charge for emergency or after-hours work. We accept claims for all major insurance companies.

Once the project started, Daniel and his team discovered that our entire shower wall was full of mold. "This review reflects our mixed reaction to our dealings with Flooring Direct over the past year. During that period, they replaced flooring in 2 bedrooms with waterproof vinyl planks and in our foyer, hallway, kitchen and den with waterproof porcelain tile. The work took place over 5 separate installations. The actual work performed was either good (3 stars) to excellent (5 stars), depending on the installer. Carlos was the lead installer on 2 of the projects, both of which were excellent. The less than satisfactory interactions were with the sales people (1 star), who either submitted incomplete and/or incorrect sales order information, failed to follow up, or lied to me directly about the availability of product, installers, and/or timing of installation. Finally, our dealings with the installation manager were sometimes excellent and other times completely unsatisfactory (2 stars). While she was always pleasant on the phone, the initial jobs were handled as planned. On the last 2 installations, she failed to meet her commitments regarding installation. For example, she agreed to send Carlos to complete the porcelain tile job (at our request based on his excellent work). Instead, without letting me know, a completely different installation team showed up. Also, she failed to meet multiple installation dates she gave me, and again she didn't bother with any phone calls to tell me. When I called about it, she apologized repeatedly. But after repeated failures, an apology doesn't carry much weight. The company's prices seemed reasonable and the work product was not usually an issue. That said, I found dealing with their sales people, as well as the installation manager, to be disappointing and stressful. Since I called multiple times, I also found the incessantly repeating Hold message rather annoying after 10-20 minutes on Hold."

Travertine is a natural limestone cut into slabs and processed into tiles. In contrast, porcelain tiles are a form of ceramic made to mimic the look of natural stone. Travertine is porous and less durable than porcelain, which is extremely hard and resistant to scratching and water. Natural stones like travertine are also more expensive than ceramic tiles. Porcelain tiles cost between $3 and $6 per square foot.
To maintain travertine tile, avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals that may damage its porous nature. Use warm water, gentle cleaners, and a soft microfiber rag or mop to wipe the surface. Hairline cracks in travertine tiles often originate from cracks or voids in the concrete subfloor. You can avoid this kind of damage by applying an elastic fracture-guard coating on top of the concrete slab before installing the tile. The coating provides the added benefit of locking away any moisture that might otherwise creep up from the concrete slab.
Travertine tiles last between 75 and 100 years when installed correctly and maintained with the proper care. By regularly cleaning with the right products and handling furniture moves carefully, you ensure the tiles retain their natural beauty and strength over time. Consistent maintenance, including proper sealing, keeps your travertine floors durable for decades.
To reseal travertine tile, start with a thorough steam cleaning of the tile and grout to remove dirt and debris. After cleaning, apply a high-quality sealant to protect the tile surface. Sealants cost between $30 and $40 per quart, and professional resealing services charge $1 to $2 per square foot, ensuring your tile remains protected and visually appealing.
