The driving factor for us was how organized the process was. 1 person coordinating, 1 project manager, 1 point of contact. These guys had someone for everything. Everything was done in a timely manner. They are open to suggestions throughout the project and suggestions are made as well. We touched on everything and the end result is amazing. We are extremely happy to have chosen home genius. Another factor and maybe the most important was the warranty the backs up everything. It’s also transferable. "WORST SERVICE ON THE MARKET. THIS COMPANY LEFT MY GRANDMOTHER $14k in DEBT, after recommending top teir gutters. The gutters were NOT needed. Not only did the company install the gutters poorly, they do not work. They do not work because she needs a roof, not new gutters. This horrible company recommended $14k gutters when a ROOF was needed. Now she will have to take down the gutters, and put up a new roof. KICKER - they fell into her garage door and left it damaged/non-functioning. DO NOT ..... I REPEAT ..... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You can see in the pictures below how gutters should never have been installed on this house. Also can see how they do not work (icicles behind). Imagien $14k for gutters that do not work. RUN from Home Genius. Their response a week later: Ambrose Powell 1:45 PM (53 minutes ago) to Jeff, me, Austin, Victoria Bill, I respect that you are a busy person and that is exactly why I gave you a multitude of options for a scheduled phone call. After you agreed to talk at 9:30am I called you exactly at that time, you did not call me back until 11:50am in which you apologized for missing my call and told me you appreciated with me sticking with it. I too am a busy person and scheduled phone calls with other customers as well as additional meetings when you gave me the agreement of 9:30am. I can call you at 4:30pm if you are available or I can speak directly with your grandmother if you prefer. "Signed a contract to replace half the roof for $5000 after assurance of no hidden cost and nominal cost for replacing some plywood. Due to rough weather the job was performed 3 weeks after signing. The roofer did not cover the roof with tarp and also spoke to Allstate who denied all my claims for damages. I was billed $1600 in addition to $5000. I have paid the $5000 but I deem the extra billing excessive. I was not informed of the cost for approval. I am willing to come to terms with the contractor and would like Angie’s list to review and work out a compromise. It also points to the level of service offered by the two contractors referred by your company. One bid for $2500 and precision roofing came in at $5000. I signed with Precision because of their assurances as an established company with a fixed cost. It has turned out not to be the case."

We were told that removing and replacing four large skylights, removing the existing shingles and replacing them that the job would take a day and a half to complete. We have dealt with many different contractors over the years for many renovations but Perfect Exteriors runs the most professional, organized business we have ever hired. Ed Drake and his Field Manager Steve Dewey have an absolutely amazing crew of men. They were extremely organized and all worked well together they were an excellent team. This job was started in the time frame that we were originally given and still completed in a day and a half even with the unexpected additional replacement of 42 sheets of plywood. A slate roof is made of thin, even slices of natural slate stone laid over the roof frame and base layer. Slate is a hard, durable rock formed over millions of years from clay and volcanic ash under extreme pressure deep within the earth. Slate roofs are extremely heavy, even when the shingles are thin, so your roof will likely need reinforcement before your contractor can install the slate. Slate roofs offer several advantages over other roofing materials. Slate is easy to maintain, reliably lasts for decades, and is extremely durable. It's extremely heavy, may require structural reinforcement, and is complicated to install. Although it is strong, the tiles can crack with impact damage.
Real slate comes from natural stone. Synthetic slate comes from various sources made to look like slate.
