"A+ Excellent! 100% Exceeded Plymouth Hidden Creek condominium expectation's. Hard Top Paving is a canton, MI company that pays attention to detail. This was true from the pre-work site visit which was done with honesty and integrity. Patching a few areas would have cost less and wouldn’t have lasted but a few years. Joseph put the customer (HOA) best interests first. Our main road was rotting and wouldn’t last which meant repair would be a waste of HOA funds. Joseph was the only person out of 4 firms quoting who pointed out the entrance from North Territorial road also needed seal coating. The competence demonstrated from a 30 minute walk through of the road and driveways set HTP apart from 3 other bidders. Joseph provided written estimate and modified it with extra detail that I requested. It’s difficult to find competent firms and people with integrity. Hard stop Paving completed work within 3 weeks of signed contract and our roads and driveways look new and were paved to perfection. Joseph’s father runs the crew with Joseph’s help and has 4 decades of experience. Their crew includes a 35 year employee that brings competence AND diversity to the job site every day. They did not rush, they were meticulous from excavating the old surface of the road, obtained asphalt material with proper color match to driveway seal cost and the place looks new. Crack fill on driveways was thorough which enabled double spray coating driveway surfaces in a single application. The value that Hard Top Paving provides (function divided by cost) is the highest of any asphalt paving firm I have dealt with over the past 40 years. Hard Top Paving is used by Chick Filet in South Carolina during winter months (Nov-Apr). It’s easy to see why. Contact Hard Top Paving now for estimates of work to be done in Michigan May-Oct 2025CY. Hurry while supplies last as their book of business grows quickly."

"I have never, ever felt the need to write a negative review about any company in my life. Until now. This company is the shadiest I have ever worked with. In the summer of 2023, I solicited bids to have my driveway resurfaced. After reviewing several bids, I went with Guardian because the sales guy (John) that came out seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. They resurfaced my driveway in October 2023 at a cost to me of over $20,000 (I have a long driveway). I followed every instruction they gave me for proper care. It actually seemed to be fine the following spring when the snow started to melt. But in the spring, I had soft spots everywhere. Every tire turn created a tire mark depression. Anything metal placed on the driveway (from a bike kickstand to a 20 lb propane cylinder) left depressions. Keep in mind this was in April 2024, after it had cured for the entire winter. And it’s not like it was July and 90 degrees. I had been told by the sales guy John the previous year that the best thing to do was to put sealcoat on in the early spring. So I called in March to get on their schedule. They told me John no longer worked there and they don’t even do sealcoating until May. I started to get suspicious, but I agreed to have the sealcoating as soon as they could get to me, but first they would need to come take a look at the deficiencies and address the soft spots and depressions. A month goes by, so I call back again. I was nowhere on their list. So I asked to be put on the schedule again. Another month goes by with nothing. Finally a guy shows up at my house in July without calling ahead so I couldn’t be there to meet with him. He tells me on the phone he can see the problems, but sealcoating should definitely help. He tells me they will come out and fix the problems and then sealcoat. Another month goes by. I keep calling and literally pleading with them to speak to someone who gives a **** about customer satisfaction. They keep assuring me a crew will be out there soon. I was so ****** off I was about to write this review in late August, when suddenly a crew shows up one day. No phone call or advance notice. Just show up to fix the deficiencies. Not sure what they would have done if I hadn’t been home and there were cars parked in my driveway. The sealcoat guys come out a week later. That costs me another $1500. But at this point I’m just naively trusting this place is not a scam (stupid me). A week after the sealcoating, I’m still seeing soft spots, depressions, tire marks, etc. I call back to complain and I am told (yet again) that someone from management will return my call. That doesn’t happen. Finally I call late on Friday afternoon and the owner Pat happens to answer the phone. I give him the entire story and he tells me it sounds like it was a bad batch of asphalt (no **** Sherlock!!!). He assures me he will be out there that Sunday to meet with me and look at it. He doesn’t show up. I have since called back 3 times to complain. A few times, I get the receptionist who tells me someone will call me. Sometimes I just get voicemail and I leave a message pleading to let me speak to someone who cares. I never get a visit or a call from anyone. These people are con men, starting with the owner Pat. Once they got my $20,000, they gave me a terrible product and they don’t give a ****. Their communication is the most unprofessional I’ve ever seen. Stay away!!!"

The mission of His Workmanship is to glorify God by displaying the gospel through speedy communication and quick scheduling. We are an online booking agency which facilitates the provision of labor services by matching Christian college providers with homeowners.
"We have used His Workmanship 2 times with completely different experiences. The first could not have gone better! The crew was exceptional—such hard workers! With this in mind we had very high hopes for this recent visit; however, we could not be more disappointed. This crew did not seem to accomplish a whole lot in the 3 hours. Their work was sloppy—they left trimmings all over the porch and bed, and bushes were not cut cleanly (lots of uneven pieces sticking up). They did not even bring any equipment. The most frustrating part however was how things were handled from there. The His Workmanship website states very clearly that ALL email is answered within 24 hours—Eric, the owner, has always been quick to respond in terms of questions about coming out for a job, and yet, when we emailed him (2 times!) asking to discuss this recent less-than-stellar performance he completely ignored us! It’s been 2 weeks and no word whatsoever. This is unacceptable customer service! Sadly, it seems, they only respond when it profits them. If we could have had a simple conversation, the company might have kept our loyalty and business! As it stands we are upset and especially disheartened from this experience—this is NOT a good reflection of HIS workmanship!! We honestly chose this company because they stand apart as an upfront Christian organization. We really love what this is supposed to be based on! The whole premise of the company leads us to believe they have integrity and are a service that stands by its work, is trustworthy, and one that treats its customers fairly. How very disappointing to be treated otherwise. From this experience we would NOT recommend using this company!"

The best time to install a driveway is from late spring to early fall. This period offers ideal conditions with warm days and cool nights that enable materials like asphalt and concrete to properly set. During this season, moderate temperatures enhance curing, reduce thermal stress, and minimize the risk of premature surface damage. These stable conditions ensure that your driveway is installed with optimal durability and longevity.
Maintaining your driveway requires consistent care, including annual sealing for concrete and periodic sealing for asphalt. Regular sealing prevents water penetration, reduces cracking, and protects the surface from weather-related damage. Following a scheduled maintenance routine not only retains the driveway’s attractive look but also extends its functional lifespan and structural integrity. Prompt repairs and systematic upkeep are essential for long-term durability.
Installing a driveway takes between one and three days for concrete and about two days for asphalt. This timeline reflects the standard duration required for material preparation, installation, and finishing processes. Additional features such as landscaping, custom designs, or complex layouts may extend the overall installation period. A well-coordinated project schedule by skilled professionals ensures high-quality results within the outlined timeframe.
A well-constructed driveway lasts for around 30 years. Consistent maintenance practices such as scheduled sealing, timely crack repairs, and routine inspections are crucial to achieving this longevity. Regular upkeep prevents water damage and surface deterioration while preserving the driveway’s structural integrity and visual appeal. Engaging in proactive maintenance ensures that the driveway remains safe, attractive, and durable over its lifespan.
