"Extremely Disappointed – Unprofessional and Unreliable Service I don’t usually leave reviews, but after my experience with this electrical company, I feel it’s necessary to warn others. From the start, working with this contractor has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing. This company was hired as a subcontractor during the construction of my new home. One of the tasks was to terminate several Cat5 cables—a simple, straightforward job that should’ve been completed without issue. When they sent an electrician out in December, he managed to complete two of the cable terminations but said he needed help accessing the remaining cables. Instead of following through, the company avoided responsibility and continuously made excuses, claiming the job was “outside their scope” despite already starting the work. At no point was it communicated to me that terminating the remaining cables would be my responsibility. In fact, the same company completed other terminations throughout the house without issue. What’s worse is that after waiting months for a resolution, I—someone with no electrical experience—was able to locate and make the cables accessible myself. If I could manage that, there’s no reason a professional couldn’t have done the same. On top of all this, I was given two completely different price quotes for the same job. Initially, I was told the first hour would be waived and subsequent hours would be billed at a fair rate. Later, that rate increased without explanation. When I asked about the conflicting quotes, instead of providing clarity, the contractor refused to continue the work altogether. Let me be clear: This issue was never the homeowner’s responsibility—it was a clear lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism on their part. If you’re considering hiring this company, think twice. They’ve shown a complete disregard for their responsibilities and zero concern for customer satisfaction. My tenant had reported that the fans were wobbling. I had them fixed when he was deployed. If replacing an existing fan or light fixture where wiring is already in place, a handyperson can perform the installation. However, for new installations, complex setups, or any situation involving electrical work, it's essential to hire a local licensed electrician to ensure the job is done safely and complies with local codes.
You should get a ceiling fan that matches the decor of your home. Out-of-place styles stick out and may detract from the home's resale value later. If you're unsure which design to go with, talk to an interior designer.

A fan costs around $44 to $88 annually if you run it nonstop. That's assuming it costs about $0.05 to $0.09 to run a fan every hour based on a range of 50 to 80 kilowatts per hour and an average national rate of $0.11 per kilowatt hour for electricity.
Installing a ceiling fan involves several steps:
