"When we decided to change the roof, we first reached out to a more popular nationwide roofing company that installs only the traditional shingles asphalt roof for a quote. Two salesmen from that company showed up the very next day. They made us sit for a two-hour PowerPoint presentation in an iPad that went on and on about their workmanship, why we should choose them and only them etc., and they kinda made us feel that our current roof could collapse anytime (our roof was just fine) and if we don't choose them then we are doomed. And finally, they gave us a quote with an exorbitant amount. They put tremendous amount of pressure on us. Of course, we rejected them. And then we reached out to Modern Standing Seam Metal Roofing for a quote. After a few days Matthew showed up at our door. His presentation was pretty open ended. Answered all our questions and at no point in time neither he used any pressure tactics, nor we felt any pressure. He inspected the roof and told us that there is nothing alarming with the current roof and if we decide to keep it for couple more years then we could. Finally, he gave us the quote and we were very surprised to see his numbers. It was slightly more than the traditional shingles asphalt roof price the other company gave us! Considering the cost of the metal (compared with the asphalt) we knew these guys are making a very slim margin and their price is unmatched by any other. But honestly, we were very nervous about their workmanship though. Once the tentative installation time approached, we received a call from Adam (owner) for the first time. Since we had a couple of Skylights, he wanted to send a guy to measure the dimensions before placing an order. Couple weeks later he called us again and gave us the project start date. On the day they started the work while Adam and one other person cutting the metal four of his men stripped down the old roof and laid down the foundation where the metal sits on top and finished the 1/3 of the installation! Later that evening once the crew left the premises the wind picked up like crazy and one of the weather strip they put on that day blew away. That introduced a small opening in the unfinished area. Since there was an upcoming storm that night, I took a picture of that and sent that to Adam. He immediately sent one of his men to address that. The guy came at 9pm and claimed up on the roof in dark with a flashlight tied on his head and added more weather materials to prevent any leak. Right at that moment I started feeling very comfortable and all my nervousness about the workmanship, accountability everything vanished. After the first day, because of the weather conditions they were not able to work for the next few days. Once again when the weather turned better that morning, I saw Adam in the yard holding breakfast/coffee from DD waiting for his crew. The guys wasted no time and finished the work in another 2 and half days! It is a very small/tight crew. They work very hard and really fast. Once the job is done the crew did a cleanup of the premises then couple more guys came and did another round of cleanup. After a few days Adam came down to collect the check (payment) and while I was making the check, he used his magnet stuff and performed another round of cleanup. After cleaning up he looked little disappointed. Since I made the check for the exact balance, I thought he was disappointed to see I didn't add any gratuity. So, I asked him is everything alright? He said that his magnet picked up a couple nails when he did the cleanup! I was literally floored when I heard that. I mean this guy takes supreme pride in his (his crews) workmanship. Anything less than 100% is unacceptable to him. Fantastic company, unbeatable price, great hardworking crew, and above all an extremely sincere owner/leader who deeply cares about his workers and the wo..."

"Dave, our sales rep, went above and beyond, by coming to our home to cut our new downspout so the heavy water flow would be rerouted away from the house. He didn't charge us and helped us out as the All Gutters Inc who Ecmr used for our gutters, wanted $150 to make the cut. Dave brought all the right tools and was pleasant as he repaired their work. We love our new metal roof and we appreciate Dave and everyone at Ecmr who make dealing with them a real pleasure."

Since our founding in 1980, Northeast Home & Energy has been providing professional home improvement services in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Starting out as a small contractor, our reputation for using quality materials, installed to the highest standards, quickly spread. We install high quality roofing systems, gutter systems, vinyl siding and replacement windows. Additional DBA - Northeast Home & Energy Inc.
"After initial meeting with a project manager (Kyle) and looking at sample materials for shingles, ice and snow barrier and other items, we received contract listing itemized details very quickly. I asked for a work order change to add another gutter then accepted the contract. Job was started within the estimated time frame. House was protected by tarps and yard kept as clean as possible during the tear down and construction. The roofing was completed in 1 day and looked beautiful. The requested over-hang looks good and gives a lower roof and siding protection from ice/snow in winter. The gutter worked like a charm several days later when it rained. Total job took 2.5 days. Definitely plan on using them on future projects (new porch doors and insulation of attic) in near future. Very professional. Easy to work with. Added bonus they are only 1 town over from ours. Very pleased with them and their work."

"Fairview does not stand by their warranty or their commitments. Shingles flew off from wind and called them in June. It is now October and they have not done the repair. I have a tarp over the area that needs repair. This is the second time since installation that shingles flew off due to wind. Guy who answers the phone is extremely rude."

Metal roofs are not necessarily loud when it rains. When you hire a professional roofing contractor for installation, they’ll ensure it has the correct insulation and underlayment, making it no louder than other roofs. The insulation helps dampen the sound, so you can enjoy a quiet indoor environment even during heavy rain or storms.
While metal roofs are durable and energy-efficient, they do have some drawbacks. They're prone to dents and surface damage from severe weather, and improper maintenance can lead to corrosion if unsuitable materials are used. Extreme climates can stress the roof's integrity, so choosing the right materials and getting professional installation is essential to avoid damage.
Installing a metal roof over your existing shingles isn't recommended. While it might seem like a cost-effective option, putting a metal roof over asphalt shingles can create a moisture barrier that leads to mold and performance issues. Removing the old roofing material ensures proper ventilation and a secure installation, protecting your investment in the long run.
Metal roofs need regular maintenance to stay durable and efficient. Annual cleaning and periodic sealing are essential to protect the roof from debris build-up and prevent corrosion. You should schedule yearly inspections, clean the roof to remove dirt and potential corrosive agents, and seal it every 10 years. Roof cleaning costs between $150 and $1,000, and sealing costs range from $150 to $5,700.
You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but extra care is required during the installation. Metal roofs' thermal characteristics require specific spacing and secure mounting techniques to ensure the panels work efficiently. Installers need to account for the different heat dissipation of metal compared to asphalt to prevent overheating. Professional roofers can ensure the safety and efficiency of both your roof and the solar panels.
