"We were looking to have some work done and John's Masonry filled our needs and then some. They were reasonably priced and were dedicated to getting the job done in a timely manner. We had the following repairs done: Sealing and caulking of the foundation Tuckpointing Repaired/replaced lintels Caulked windows Installed rubberized masonry flashing to prevent water penetration Power washed and sealed the front porch and deck Replaced bricks where needed Treated the efflorescence on the basement walls, scraped, and applied masonry stucco throughout the basement where needed. Painted the basement with loxon masonry paint Dug up a slab of cement to install a drain to fix a pooling of water problem and replaced the entire slab. This team was polite and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. John was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them. They also do roofing."

"I have had the pleasure of working with John Gallagher, owner, of Exterior Designers, Inc. (EDI) several time over the past twenty years. I first met John as a young new homeowner. We needed a roof and also were in the market to replace the outdated aluminum siding. I always begin a job with at least three estimates, and we were working within a budget. EDI was not the least expensive but was the only company whose owner (John) came out and explained what was needed and what was not. While the other estimates were eager to make the most of our service call, John suggested getting a layer placed over the original roof at a less expensive cost to us. He also advised it would probably last about seven to ten years. Additionally, while other contractors tried selling us high end siding (cedar), John explained that while cedar would look nice, it comes with a lot of maintenance and in reality, the neighborhood tended towards vinyl. Again, he could have talked us into a more expensive choice, especially since my taste and budget is not always in sync, however, he did not. He steered us towards the more economical choice. Our layover roof lasted 19 years without even one leak! That’s great craftmanship. And my siding looks as new as it did when we first had it applied. This summer when I decided to replace the roof in its entirety, I called upon John to do the job. Again, he came out and explained all the options. He does not attempt to sell the best product as many contractors do. Rather, he listened to what I wanted and steered me towards a mid-range quality roof with the architectural shingles I desired, while working within my budget. "Robert was a pleasure to work with and gave me a great deal compared to two other competitors. His team did a great job too, against adversity, and finished the job in just two days as promised. First, they discovered that my sheathing was rotting due to high moisture and poor ventilation in the attic of my 26yr old home. They successfully replaced 55 sheets of 1/2" plywood, without hesitation, after my approval, to keep the job on track. Better even yet, they resolved the sources of the moisture and lack of ventilation to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Second, at the start of the 2nd day, their ladder hoist broke down, which I expected to halt work (not getting heavy packages of shingles to the roof). But, instead of a delay, the team members just carried them up the ladder manually to get the job done on time. You don't see that kind of commitment very often in this new world order. "John Oros at Berg has been very easy and helpful to work with. We had windows installed 5-7 years ago (Midway vinyl). Cost was very competitive, scheduling and installation was smooth and professional. Recently, we had an issue with hardware on one of the windows and a sliding screen door. "The labor crew does great work. It took me 3 weeks to get it through to these office guys that I didn’t just need plywood, I needed a BEAM replaced. Tim in the office and the rep that did the original quote assured me that the beam replacement would be $1,000 MAX on top of the original quote. Got a bill for over $7,000 on top of the original quote. Gotta love those surprises!"

"They took the job even though they don't know how to do flat roofs, and never at any point started that they don't know how to do flat roofs until after I called to complain about water leaking in my closet. The contract states tear off old roof and install new shingles. He did not honor the contract. He didn't reroof the entire roof, and only reshingled the flat roof. The contract and request was for a new roof over the entire house. Of the Leake he asked why it just now started leaking, and suggested maybe a branch fell on it. It did not seem he ever intended to honor the warranty. His first response was "I didn't do the back" when I called about the leak and told him the location. I requested a partial refund, and he started that he would wait till he's served -- boasting that a lawsuit will take a year."
