"Do yourself favor and do NOT even consider hiring Carpet Wagon, dba "Payless Kitchen Cabinets and Bath". I hired them to do a renovation of my bath and kitchen. I gave them $1000 deposit to get the job started. Afterwards, the salesman (Anthony Wright) passed me off to a bathroom project coordinator (Shery) and a kitchen project coordinator (Daphne). Both women seem to lack basic job knowledge (did not know what "floor moulding" is), and they both have poor business etiquette and weak communication skills: missed, canceled, and late call appointments, condescending and cavalier about my concerns. This was apparent after just one phone conversation with them, and I cannot trust them to coordinate all phases of the renovation. Also troublesome was that I was told that the project coordinators would not ever come to my house. Instead they would oversee the job by phone and I was to text them pictures. This is not acceptable to me. The salesman originally told me that there would be a manager onsite. Also, I learned that the timeline for each project was misrepresented by the salesperson. Instead of 7 days, the bathroom would take 7 weeks. Instead of 21 days, the kitchen would take 3 months. Very soon I found out that Payless Kitchen Cabinets & Bath wanted additional deposits of over 50% of the total cost for the entire job prior to sending someone out to take measurements, order any material, or perform labor. I may not know a lot about construction, but I do know that payments should never get ahead of the work. All things carefully considered, I decided not to proceed with Payless Kitchen Cabinets & Bath. I reached out by text, phone, and 6 emails were sent without a reply. I finally ended up speaking with Caroline Sakayan (production manager). She didn't want to hear about my experience and did not care about any of my concerns. She was very arrogant and argumentative. Despite no measurements taken, material ordered or labor performed (job hasn't even started), she told me that she will not be refunding the deposit. I feel this is highly unethical, especially under the circumstances and their bait and switch tactics. This whole ordeal has caused me so much stress and aggravation. Now they have me wasting more of my time because I need to fight them to return the money that they are so pathetically trying to keep."

I have many years of experience in Handyman work, odd jobs, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, gophers, window cleaning and cleaning solutions. Previously a field tech (handyman) within the USPS for 8 years as well as 20 total years of home improvement and 'fix-it' experience. I'm trustworthy, will be in time, very respectful, easy to work with, will text back quickly. Most contractors are grumpy, intimidating and charge way too much. To avoid damaging the surface of wood and composite decks, use a pressure washer with a maximum of 1,300 PSI. For metal or decks made of extra hard surfaces, you can go up to 2,300 PSI. Staying within these limits helps remove stubborn dirt and stains without harming your deck.
Yes, it's a good idea to pressure wash your deck before staining it. A thorough cleaning by a pressure washing professional removes dirt, mildew, and old paint or stain, ensuring the new stain adheres properly and looks great. A clean deck also means the stain will last longer and better protect your deck.
Determining whether to use soap when pressure washing your deck depends on the extent of soiling. For lightly soiled decks, water alone may suffice; however, heavy dirt and oily residues demand a specialized, deck-safe detergent. Using the right soap enhances the cleaning process by breaking down stubborn grime while safeguarding the deck’s surface.
The optimal time to pressure wash your deck is in the spring or fall. In spring, cleaning eliminates winter mold and accumulated dirt, while in fall, it removes greasy spills before the cold sets in. Scheduling cleaning during these periods not only enhances your deck’s appearance but also preserves its integrity and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
If your deck was recently stained or sealed, you do not need to apply a new sealant immediately. However, if several years have passed since the last resealing, pressure washing effectively removes old sealant and prepares the surface for a fresh coat. Resealing protects against moisture intrusion and prolongs the deck’s lifespan, ensuring a durable and even finish.
