"I had a basement remodel project that included new flooring, some new framing/walls, removal of a drop ceiling, new drywall ceiling, new lighting, and new paint. Working with Eric was great. He kept in constant contact and kept me updated all along the way. He made some suggestions that improved the overall project and always kept me informed if there would be any changes to cost. He always kept me informed on the schedule even if there was a small change to a subcontractor coming earlier or later than originally discussed. The job was completed on time and on budget, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Eric (Somrok Inc.) again for a future project and highly recommend him."

"Paul and his crew did an exceptional job on the painting of our outside porch. The job was done very professionally, and Paul was gracious enough to include some of my additional requests at no additional charge. The work area was kept clean, and the job was completed on a timely manner. In fact, the job was completed prior to the projected timeline. I would not hesitate to hire Hoosier Construction for our future needs."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
