"I hired the Medrano's after another kitchen refinisher made a mess of my kitchen cabinets. I wanted my cherry wood cabinets refinished in a dark stain since they were of such a high quality. I wanted the grain in the wood to show. I interviewed at least 5 companies and the Medrano's were the only ones willing to sand and refinish them the way I wanted. Most wanted to cover the cabinets with gel stain. I have only praise for these men. They are kind, efficient, and experts at what they do. My cabinets are beautiful! See the attached photos. As you can see, the grain shines through the staining. They even installed soft close drawer slides and made a new drawer when one could not fit correctly. I will hire them again. They will be coming back to refinish my banisters. "

"Epic Decks replaced and enlarged my deck in 2021. I loved it when they finished and knew at that time that I would have them back to add a pergola. 2024 was the year to do that. I absolutely love what they’ve done! My deck feels more like an outdoor living space- the pergola just adds so much to my back yard! The deck is on the east side of my house and looks out into my back yard and on a green space behind us filled with mature trees and occasionally horses. If you're tackling a DIY project, expect it to take a full day for a basic seat and several days for more advanced designs that involve extra structural adjustments.
A built-in window seat that measures four feet in width will seat two adults comfortably or let one person stretch out. Ideal dimensions are 17 to 20 inches in depth and 16 to 21 inches in height to ensure a balanced design and optimal comfort. Make sure your window seat isn't higher than the bottom of your window for a harmonious look in your space.
You might need a building permit to install your window seat. Even though it's an indoor modification, some municipalities require permits for any built-in seating that is added to residential properties. Check with your local building authorities and your professional carpenter to ensure you're in compliance and avoid any potential penalties.
