"Got a quote based on information I gave, knowing that this was an estimate based on usual circumstances. Very punctual, two problems, first was a clogged drain than was cleared quickly, the second was a defective outside spigot that split because I forgot to remove house line for the winter. The basement was finished making it difficult to get to the line so replacement could be completed. Both jobs were completed, area was broom clean, the final bill was slightly higher then quote because of extra time need to get to line with out damaging. Ceiling etc. I would use again, loved his good nature and humor."

I live by the Wolf Creek Tavern in Norton’s loyal Oak & for the first time since moving in late 2001/early 2002 my basement suffered a massive flood August 8, 2023. Owner Mike Johns gave me his plan & the estimate. Other companies sent young people who never actually did the work and were basically just reinstalling what I already had downstairs. Mike had a much better plan, And I feel confident that I could finish my basement and it is never going to get wet again! I now have a sump pump in each corner of the basement, the sump pumps have secondary backup pumps, they have battery back ups in case the power goes out, all the pumps and all my downspouts all the way around the house are now dumped far from the house down by the road. The technician was suppose to check the AC unit assess the situation, identify the issue and make a recommendation based on his findings (normal process and part of initial cost). He claimed that he couldn’t assess the external AC unit before he washes it so he tagged an additional $265 to perform the task for a total of $308 for an AC check.Once that was done he checked the Freon levels which he could have initially done. It was low and told me that it would take 1.5 lb in one and half pound for other unit For a total of $ 1,400 for Freon and suggested that I replace these units with new ones and by the way his company was running a special and would provide a quote for $28,000. I had since called another vendor that checked these units and added the Freon for $150."

Sump pump or interior foundation drains installations FAQs
Most 1/3 to 1/2-horsepower sump pumps use 1,300 to 2,900 watts to start up. Then, they use 800 to 1,050 watts to continue running until the reservoir is empty.
To find the right sump pump size, dig out your 18-inch-wide reservoir and observe the water accumulation on a rainy day. Start with an empty reservoir and watch the rainfall for one full minute. Measure the depth of the rainwater in inches and multiply by 60 to find the total number of gallons that build up. Multiply that number by 1.5 for a bit of wiggle room. If it’s more than 35 gallons per minute, get a 3/4-horsepower unit. Otherwise, 1/3 to 1/2-horsepower models will work.
If your sump pump is making a lot of noise, it may be time for a replacement. Other signs that your sump pump may be damaged include sump pump odors, a spike in your utility bills, or excessive pump vibrations.
You don’t necessarily need a plumber to install a sump pump. You may want to hire a handyperson or a specialized sump pump repair pro to handle the replacement or installation.
Not every basement needs a sump pump. You only need a sump pump if your basement floods during light to heavy rain. If you notice basement condensation instead, you might need basic waterproofing services.
