Shan-Gri-La Sod Farm is family-owned and operated that started in 1939 as a poultry farm in Willow Grove, PA by my Grandfather Dewey H. Bunch, Sr. In 1967 my father, Dewey H. Bunch, Jr., purchased our farm in beautiful Bucks County, PA and began growing sod. My brother, sisters, and I all worked side by side in the fields with my mother and father learning about the importance of family and hard work, as well as the commitment required to establish and maintain a successful small family business. In 1990 I began the landscape construction division to satisfy customers wanting to deal with one qualified contractor for all of their outdoor needs. We are E.P. Henry authorized paver installers and have had photos of our projects in their catalog each year since 2005. "The minimum of work was done. Head gardener complained of his crew who spent most of the day sitting in the shade. Telephone or text messages to the main landscaper took days and days for brief responses. The growing/watering directions went unsaid. There was no check up by the management afterwards. A tree planted too deeply is dying. Replacement of dead plants seemed to cause a problem and we ended up replacing them ourselves."
