"We just bought a house, and needed to get some popcorn ceiling containing asbestos removed. However, we were on a tight timeline due to the 10 day waiting period. Larry took that into consideration, and scheduled work to begin as soon as the 10 day waiting period was over. His crew arrived on time, and were very professional. They made sure all affected areas were sealed off, and cleaned up throughly after work was done. Price was fair, and work was done just in time for our move into the new home."

"I usually don't post reviews, but I had to post a review for Pure Restoration. They're a really great company and they helped us out in a very difficult time. We had a roof fire at our house two years ago, fortunately no one was hurt, but our home was destroyed. It was, of course, a total surprise... we didn't know what to do... so we turned to the internet and discovered Pure Restoration on Angie's List. Tommy helped us navigate the difficult process of rebuilding a home, from dealing with our insurance company and getting the money to acquiring the permit (we're in Los Angeles, it's not easy), to re-designing the home and right through the build. It was a long process, but Pure Restoration made sure it went as quickly as possible. We were fortunate that no one was hurt, and very fortunate that we found pure. I would highly recommend them!"

"Rudolfo was wonderful to work with. When there was a glitch in the process he went WAY above and beyond! I would highly recommend this company to anyone. I still have two areas of asbestos that we need removing (phase 2 of home remodel) and I will definitely go with CVE again!"

"I thought the job was very well done.  They explained the cost before starting and did a great job!  But, didnot inform me that there was a minimum charge of $249 until after they itemized the price for each item;  I ended up paying an extra $54 which could have been applied towards more vents to clean.  However,   I am very pleased with the work done.  Our heater motor really needed to be cleaned well as was done.  I was just disappointed they did not tell me about a minimum charge of $245 after telling me each detailed cost of each type of service.  Be sure to get a clear written quote before starting your job.  I was also not offered the 5% or given the discount for using angieslist.com.   I will consider another company next time."

"It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They absorbed the money for the checkup because my heater was dead and I needed to have one completely replaced. They were a good company and quite reliable. They called multiple times to make sure that everything is still working right. They are very earnest people and they are a good company. Even though it was an extreme amount of money, it is a big house and I thought it was a pretty good deal. My other system was 24 years old. They said this one will last 25 years. I will absolutely use them again."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Porter Ranch, CA

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
