"I was in the process of having a rental remodeled for a few months. Unfortunately, the work started by the initial â  handymanâ  , in Oct. 2023, showed he was rushing, not detail oriented, was over his head, and had very young and inexperienced assistants that made the process a disappointing nightmare, which caused me to lose sleep, time and money. After the work issues were discussed with the initial handyman, he quit and left me with a load of bad work that still needed to be corrected, and a lengthy list of projects that still needed to be done. In comes Osvaldo â  Valoâ  Chà ¡vez, (970)314-4504, to the rescue.! Osvaldo is very experienced and knowledgeable, and has been respectful, personable, trustworthy and helpful with great ideas throughout this process. Osvaldo was able to correctly finish the shoddy work previously done, and finish all the other pending projects quickly, professionally, cleanly and with great attention to detail. My experience with Osvaldo has been a huge relief, free of anxiety since he took over these projects. Osvaldoâ  s â  can-do attitudeâ  , work, punctuality and demeanor has been absolutely reassuring and professional. Osvaldo knew how to deal with any issues such as replacing old plumbing in laundry room, new kitchen cabinets, kitchen tile, new dishwasher and disposal install, building walls and refinishing, paint, bathroom tile, bathroom fixtures, installing doors & knobs, new lighting and fans, epoxy painting (garage & laundry room), etc. Any task, you name it, and Osvaldo knew how to take care of it. The house remodel was completed by Osvaldo and sold quickly with no issues during the process. Too bad Osvaldo didnâ  t start the entire project for me, he wouldâ  ve saved me money, time and stress. Because of his knowledge, experience, punctuality and overall great work, personality and attitude, Osvaldo has become my â  go-to guyâ  for any work I may need in the future. Do yourself a favor and call Osvaldo â  Valoâ  Chavez, for a free estimate on any project you may have. Iâ  m sure youâ  ll be a very satisfied customer with a great experience."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
